9 Tiny Bay (Bet Now:Â $4.80) looks a nice filly for Team Jolly that is on debut and I think can debut with a win. This girl comes through a jumpout win here over 600m when on speed throughout and moved well early before being clicked up and she showed nice change up speed to win well. Keen to see how she goes because I do think she has an engine under the hood.
Danger
7 Magna Mak (Bet Now:Â $5.00) is a well bred filly for Phillip Stokes that is on debut. This girl has had a couple of recent jumpouts at Victoria to get ready for start one, the latest at Moe, and I thought she moved very well when running second. Stable has had a ripping season with their juveniles and this girl looks like she has an engine under the hood.
Long Shot
8 Royal Majesty (Bet Now: $16.00) is three weeks between runs for Chris Bieg since contesting the David Coles where she was on debut. She got back off the speed and was never really threatening but wasn’t disgraced in defeat I thought behind the talented filly Flyer. Back to 1100m, she has that run under the belt and this isn’t an overly deep race.
Race 2. (12:37) Skycity Mdn Plate 1100m

3 Grint (Bet Now: $3.80) for me here. Clarken/O’Shea trained filly that resumed three weeks ago over 1050m here in a solid benchmark race and while she was held, I thought she was far from disgraced in defeat in a good effort behind Vintage Star. Good room for improvement and back to maiden grade, she appeals as one of the better bets on the card.
Danger
5 Lord Valen (Bet Now: $23.00) is a nine start maiden but hasn’t been too far away. Latest run was over 1200m at Gawler when off the speed and found the line well enough but couldn’t quite get the win when third to Covert Witness. Back to a fast run 1100m, can see him sitting back and launching at them late.
Long Shot
1 Fashion Dog (Bet Now:Â $34.00) should appreciate a rise to 1100m. This guy resumed over 1000m at Murray Bridge where he got off the speed and was chasing from a fair way out but he kept finding and was good in defeat when third to impressive winner Hajra. Good improvement to come, hard to beat for sure.

6 Peacemaker (Bet Now: $9.50) has become a winning machine for Chris Bieg and rates as one of the hardest to beat. He has won two on the bounce, the latest win being two weeks ago on the Parks track over 1550m when giving them a start and a beating, launching late from near last to win and win well. Good test here against likely types but hard to knock the way he’s racing.
Danger
1 Prince Jofra (Bet Now: $5.50) should love coming back to the mile. He ran over 2000m last time in the Casterton Cup where he was outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat behind Picaroon, beaten a few lengths. He tends to save his best for the mile and this isn’t an overly deep contest to my eye. Leading contender.
Long Shot
8 Run And Tell (Bet Now: $9.50) looks the leader and will give cheek. That is what he did two weeks back on the Parks track when attempting to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late by Jenkins. The end of 1600m is the test but with a soft lead on the cards, he’ll take running down.

6 King’s Crossing (Bet Now: $4.80) should appreciate getting to this level. He ran over 2000m at Caulfield last time where in the run, he looked to be going nicely and was tracking up with purpose at stages but when asked for the effort, the wheels kind of spun in the ground and he was one paced from that point on. Like him back to this level and on a firmer deck, he’s a big improver.
Danger
1 The Nephew (Bet Now:Â $2.80) is a key chance for Patrick Payne. He comes through the Exalted Fire race from a fortnight back where he was just off the speed throughout and presented to win in the straight but Exalted Fire had it too good in front and was strong to the line in winning. Tick over jumps trial was nice, and hopefully it sharpens him up for this.
Long Shot
2 Ammo Amor (Bet Now: $6.50) is just about at peak fitness and should appreciate a rise in trip onto the bigger track. He ran on the Parks track two weeks back where he got back in the run and kept finding the line without really threatening in a sit/sprint won by Exalted Fire. He’ll appreciate getting to 2000m and overall, this isn’t a deep race.

3 Magic Max (Bet Now: $8.50) will be spotting them a start but should be very strong at the end. Down the track and outclassed two back in the John Hawkes behind Extremely Lucky before going to the Parks track two weeks back where he got to near last and although he made up headway, he was never really a threat behind Keep Reading. If he’s within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.
Danger
6 Klabel (Bet Now:Â $2.40) has to be given serious respect. He resumed on the Parks track two weeks ago when four/five wide no cover throughout and despite that hard run, he kept fidning the line and the run was full of merit in defeat I thought behind stablemate Keep Reading, who had the more economical run and was much too good. Fitter, bigger track, hard to beat with hopefully a better run in transit.
Long Shot
9 Chosen Blonde (Bet Now: $9.50) looks the leader and will take running down, especially down in the weights. She ran second to Keep Reading in the race mentioned above. She led, ran along and tried her guts out, but couldn’t hold out the quality sprinter. Good racing style, featherweight, she’ll look the winner for a fair chunk.

4 Nullify (Bet Now: $5.00) doesn’t really win out of turn but the Bain/Taylor camp has her going really well. She ran over 1550m on the Parks track two weeks ago when just off the speed and tried hard when clear. Just missed out on the win when a close up third to Peacemaker in a blanket finish. Onto the bigger track, I think, suits, and she’ll be strong at the end.
Danger
5 Bona Fide Star (Bet Now:Â $13.00) seems a bit on the one paced side so I do think the rise to 1500m suits. He ran over 1400m at Murray Bridge last time when wide no cover on speed throughout but he was as game as ever in defeat when second to Ocean Blast. Not the best of winning strike rates but is a tough bugger and the extra 100m should be fine.
Long Shot
1 I Need A Drink (Bet Now: $12.00) is an interesting runner. Dunn/Bishop trained gelding that comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since April 20 when on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish it off, finishing down the track behind Hoops. Tick over trial at Oakbank on Monday was good and his best is clearly good enough.

8 Trumpty Dumpty (Bet Now:Â $5.50) is getting better with racing and I do think the Blinkers going on is going to help this horse immensely. He won his maiden over the mile at Murray Bridge last time, getting a suck run in behind before angling clear and knuckled down, eventually, to get the win. He seems a big dope, still learning, so Blinkers on to sharpen him up and has more upside/progression.
Danger
3 Tippa (Bet Now: $4.20) commands respect for me. Shayne Cahill trained three year old that has been strong in recent runs. He was very good in defeat two weeks ago on the Parks track. He was wide no cover throughout but he kept finding the line and only got nabbed late in the piece by Peacemaker, who had a suck run out the back and launched late. Better run in transit, he’ll take beating.
Long Shot
4 Ichibansan (Bet Now: $9.00) should appreciate a rise in trip and is fitter. Four weeks between runs when racing two weeks back over 1550m on the Parks track where he had a suck run on the fence but when asked for an effort, he didn’t fire and was a bit on the plain side. His best is good enough and the stable wouldn’t persist running him if he wasn’t showing something at home.

5 Wally West (Bet Now: $3.40) on top. Three weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here when keen in the run just off the speed and burning that energy, it took away something from his finale when down the track behind Pure Paradise. The first up run behind Aviatress was a beauty and off that effort, he’ll take beating here.
Danger
3 Talkin Italian (Bet Now: $7.50) has found winning form and he can keep on continuing the picket fence. The two wins have come at Strathalbyn, firstly over 1100m before stepping up to 1200m when giving them a start and a beating to win and win well. Yet to really measure up in town but hard to knock the way he’s racing.
Long Shot
4 Sportsbeat (Bet Now:Â $4.00) is one of the leading chances. He resumed down the straight at Flemington over 1100m where he was back near last in the run and did make up good ground late in the piece when beaten 2.4L by Losesomewinmore. He has good room for improvement, winner at the track and off that return, he appeals.

5 Runaway Belle (Bet Now: $4.80) is several weeks between runs Phillip Stokes since racing over 1050m here where she got off the speed but tracked up and presented to win but couldn’t quite get there when second to surprise winner Geminga, who has franked the form with another win, so that reads well, and despite likely conceding a start, she should be strong at the end.
Danger
12 Trantoro (Bet Now: $11.00) has done little wrong this time in and with her racing style, she’ll give herself every chance. She rode to the pattern and was a dominant winner fresh at Gawler in a maiden before a down the track effort behind Episodic. She then went to Balaklava where they rode her with a sit and it worked out, spanking them. She has versatility re racing pattern and is in form.
Long Shot
8 Parachuter (Bet Now: $51.00) is one I can entertain at odds. Formerly with Trent Edmonds, she had her first run for Dunn/Bishop in the Geminga race from a few weeks back when wide no cover throughout and that hard run told late in the piece, finishing down the track. Tick over trial was good and with a more economical run in transit, she’s dangerous.
