Morphettville racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:02) Quayclean BM66 (1100m)
#2 – Snore Room @ $2.90
Snore Room didn’t fire on debut, but he bounced back to win at Murray Bridge last time out.
The two-year-old son of Churchill won by a length as a $10.00 chance, and we’re not surprised by the shorter odds.
He’s in good hands, which adds to our confidence.
Race 2. (12:37) Skycity Maiden (1100m)
#3 – Grint @ $3.80
Grint ran well on debut when second at Murray Bridge before struggling a touch in two subsequent runs.
The three-year-old gelding by Winning Rupert wasn’t far away last time out, and dropping in class helps.
Punters get each-way odds to snap up from bookmakers.
Race 3. (13:12) Bet with Mates BM74 (1600m)
#2 – Easy Campese @ $2.30
Easy Campese capped off consistent form with a win at Morphettville, so he should be tough to beat here.
The six-year-old owns six wins and 15 placings from 42 starts, and he owns three placings from four starts on this track.
Getting 2kg off his back makes him tough to beat.
Race 4. (13:47) The Fotobase Group BM74 (2000m)
#1 – The Nephew @ $3.00
Punters have been burned with The Nephew a few times, but we’re happy to back him for one more run.
The Patrick Payne-trained gelding has yet to win or place from five starts over this distance, but this race isn’t overly strong.
Getting a good draw adds to his appeal.
Race 5. (14:22) Adelaide Galvanising Industries BM78 (1050m)
#6 – Klabel @ $2.30
Klabel is a consistent type with three wins and four placings from 12 starts.
The gelding doesn’t fire at this track, but he has been taking on tougher fields and running well to place recently.
His odds are shortening, and we’re happy to take the odds.
Race 6. (14:57) Sportsbet 0MW (1500m)
#2 – She’s Pretty Rich @ $4.40
She’s Pretty Rich got back to winning form at Werribee last start when showing a good turn-of-foot.
The four-year-old mare by Written Tycoon is only a two-time winner overall, but she has more upside than most in this field.
Getting in with 56kg makes her tough to hold out.
Race 7. (15:32) Happy 60th Birthday Peter Fama (1800m)
#7 – Burning Bright @ $7.00
Burning Bright was too good for them last time out, and she’s good enough to kick on with it.
The three-year-old filly by Fiorente is a two-time winner from 11 starts, and she finished second at her only start at Morphettville.
She handles all tracks, so conditions won’t be an issue.
Race 8. (16:12) Grand Syndicates Handicap (1100m)
#4 – Sportsbeat @ $4.40
The four-year-old gelding by Spieth is only a one-race winner from 15 starts, but that win came on this track.
He also owns five placings, and the four-year-old son of Spieth is never too far away from the prize at this level.
After opening at $4.60, he has been well-backed to win.
Race 9. (16:50) Photo Finish Refund Handicap (1100m)
#7 – Majesticity @ $4.20
Majesticity won on debut at Ballarat by 3.3 lengths, so there’s no reason to jump off her back.
The three-year-old filly by Under the Louvre opened at $4.40, which is a better price than we expected from bookmakers.
Barrier four is ideal, and we recommend taking the odds before they firm.
