Race 1. (12:50) Schweppes Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Tarpaulin @ $2.80
Tarpaulin did well to run second at Warwick Farm last time out, and that form should stack up nicely at this level.
The two-year-old colt by Harry Angel ran at $1.80 odds on that occasion, so punters get much better odds this time around.
Zac Lloyd has been riding well, so that’s a positive.
Race 2. (13:25) James Squire BM64 (1200m)
#7 – Pink Shalala @ $2.45
Looking to improve on a second placing at Wyong is Pink Shalala, who shouldn’t take too long to win.
The three-year-old son of Shalaa was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner and he was hitting the line with purpose.
Getting $2.45 is a fair price from bookmakers, and jumping from barrier two helps.
Race 3. (14:00) Admire Mars at Arrowfield Maiden (1100m)
#3 – Love and Light @ $5.50
Looking to cap off three placings from four starts is Love and Light, who has had three starts at Warwick Farm.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained filly ran third at Warwick Farm last time out, which followed consecutive trial wins at Randwick.
Getting weight off her back could be enough to see her win.
Race 4. (14:35) Tab BM72 (2130m)
#13 – Golden Pierro @ $7.50
Golden Pierro turned his form around when scoring at Hawkesbury, and he’s good enough to kick on with it.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding by Pierro showed good barrier speed before holding off the opposition nicely.
A repeat of that effort is enough to see him win again.
Race 5. (15:10) Hyland Race Colours BM72 (1000m)
#4 – World Alliance @ $3.60
World Alliance owns three wins from six starts, including a good win last time out at Hawkesbury.
The four-year-old son of Rubick scored by just under a length, and although this is a deeper field, he’s good enough to handle it.
Barrier three should see him land on the speed and provide a good kick.
Race 6. (15:45) Pinatubo @ Darley BM64 (1600m)
#3 – Mickey’s Medal @ $9.00
Mickey’s Medal has been right around the mark throughout his career, including two wins and six placings from 12 starts.
The son of Brave Smash won well at Hawkesbury three back before placing at Canterbury and Hawkesbury.
Getting 3kg off his back makes him tough to beat at value odds.
Race 7. (16:20) Ole Kirk First Yearlings BM72 (1300m)
#11 – Kerguelen @ $2.05
Kerguelen was a good thing beaten last start after getting too far back and he was in the worst part of the track.
The three-year-old gelding by Lonhro was more impressive when winning on debut at Kembla Grange by 9.5 lengths.
That’s an excellent form guide, and it continues what could be a good day for Zac Lloyd.
