10 of the Best Travel Photographers With Work You’ll Love

Must read

Inspiration is a beautiful thing. My list of places to see in the world comprises numerous entries added after I saw photos taken in those spots by travel photographers. Famous or not, sometimes all it takes is to see an image of a place to make you want to travel there. Bora Bora, Gravelbourg, Banff, Swat Valley, Kazbegi, and Christmas Island are just a few on the list. To see a more varied selection, check out the works of these ten photographers.

Sunny Herzinger

Someone for whom travel and photography are inseparable, Sunny Herzinger feels that everyone is creative in nature. They just need to find the right outlet for their creativity. Thankfully for us, Sunny found his in photography. He was also chosen as one of Adobe’s “Rising Stars of Photography” in 2018. Read our interview with him to see his beautiful mountain photos.

Šuns Akis

We’re confident you’ve probably never seen East Africa this way. Lithuanian photographer Šuns Akis spent a few challenging months on a photo story titled A Fisherman’s Secret. See more about that story in the interview piece with us.

Steve Roe

One of the oldest municipalities of Japan, Kyoto is famous for its many pagodas. Steve Roe is no stranger to photographing Asia and its various cultures, and he enjoyed his time in Kyoto too. If you were thinking of seeing the less metropolitan areas of Japan, check out our interview with him.

Joris Hermans

Traveling to see anything but touristy attractions is Joris Hermans (and his girlfriend). Photographing the world with just a handful of primes, he considers himself more of a documenter and observer than a creator of photos. He also doesn’t spend too much time post-processing his photos, usually taking less than a minute per picture for this.

Jesse Echevarria

You don’t always need to look overseas for travel inspiration, as Jesse Echevarria shows in his images of Colorado’s landscapes. The closest that I’ve experienced to this kind of landscape is at Mleiha (with mountains) and Liwa, both in the UAE. If you find dune photography mesmerizing, then check out Jesse’s work).

Grace Chen

She travels far and long to see wondrous sights, and Grace Chen hopes to one day visit all the countries of the world. As someone who looks for inspiration online, she tries to do something adventurous on each of her tours.

Skander Khlif

It’s one of the most visited countries on Earth and a must-see destination for many travel enthusiasts, and Thailand’s floating markets are one of their major attractions. Skander Khlif showcased a series of photos on the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market back in 2019. To see more of the colors and scenes from here, visit our feature on him.

Polly Rusyn

A globetrotter obsessed with street photography, Polly Rusyn looks to find vibrant sights in her frames. As someone who used to work in the travel industry, she doesn’t put down her camera while she’s on her travels. Street photography is an enjoyable challenge when she’s overseas, and she compares it to a problem-solving exercise

Eric Van Nynatten

Owing to its colorful streets (and vibrant citizens), Cuba is on the bucket list of many frequent travelers. For a wanderlust-inducing feel of this country, take a look at Eric Van Nynatten’s images from their streets.

Prathamesh Dixit

An engineer by education but an artist by heart, Prathamesh Dixit always wanted to create his own art while traveling the world. He was a wedding photographer initially but moved towards travel photography to be able to write about his experiences too.
