Race 2. (12:50) Eve Electrical Super Maiden (1600m)
#2 – Evenflow @ $1.85
Evenflow has been close in four starts, including two second placings.
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt has plenty of improvement to come, and running second at Kembla Grange is a good form guide.
Punters have to take short odds, but they’re worth including.
Race 4. (14:05) Hoodoo Gurus Maiden (1100m)
#5 – Du Cap @ $4.50
Du Cap is better for five career starts, including two second placings at Wyong.
The three-year-old filly by Snitzel gets all favours off the inside draw, and this is her race to lose.
Punters get better odds than expected, and it’s only a matter of time before she gets the chocolates.
Race 5. (14:40) Sneddon Bros Maintenance Maiden (1100m)
#6 – Diamond Firetail @ $4.00
Diamond Firetail wasn’t far behind some smart types on debut at Randwick, which is a tidy form guide.
The James Cummings-trained two-year-old has since been to the trials twice, including a second placing at Hawkesbury.
After opening at $6.00, money has come for her steadily.
Race 6. (15:15) Pluim Group C1 (1100m)
#1 – Mafia @ $4.00
Mafia won his only start at Wyong, and getting back to this track helps his cause.
The three-year-old gelding by Written Tycoon owns a win and three placings from seven starts, and getting the inside draw helps.
He also comes off a trial win at Randwick, which bodes well.

Race 1. (12:00) Think Water Maiden (1300m)
#10 – Newzou @ $4.80
Newzou showed speed on debut when third at Pakenham, and she’s better than what she showed last time out.
The three-year-old daughter of Zoustar didn’t fire at Geelong, but it’s good to see solid betting support for her.
Punters should take the each-way odds before they firm.
Race 3. (13:00) Edg.Space Maiden (2100m)
#4 – Linas Reel @ $2.60
Linas Reel should have won a race by now, but he went close when second last time out.
The three-year-old son of Highland Reel wasn’t far behind the winner at Cranbourne, and he just needs luck from the wide barrier.
It’s not an easy field, but we’re backing him until he wins.
Race 5. (14:00) Carlton Draught Maiden (1100m)
#3 – Highlands @ $3.40
Highlands scored a placing either side of a spell, and the James Cummings-trained runner has upside.
The three-year-old son of Sidestep ran third fresh up at Mornington when finishing under a length behind the winner.
Punters should take the odds before they shorten on race day.
Race 7. (15:00) Bet365 BM58 (1600m)
#7 – Day in Heaven @ $7.50
Day in Heaven scored consecutive wins at Seymour and Horsham earlier this preparation, which is tidy form.
The five-year-old mare by Domesday has yet to race at Echuca, but she’s a two-time winner over the distance.
Punters get value each-way odds to enjoy, and that’s a fair price.
