Ashley Maley trained veteran that does tend to save his best for this track/distance and has found positive form after racing over 1300m here two weeks ago, sticking on strongly in defeat from off the speed when a narrow second to My Hidden Universe. That was his first run in six weeks so fitter, up in trip, he takes beating I say.

$SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Steve Wolfe. He ran over 1400m here a fortnight back in a much stronger race than this and he ran a super race in defeat when third to Bird’s The Word. He’ll love the rise to the mile and rates highly.

$SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness, ready to go. He ran behind Bird’s The Word two weeks back. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never really threatening, he did find the line and was quite good in defeat I thought. If he can settle closer, he’s dangerous.

This guy resumed over 1200m at Pinjarra when on speed, giving a decent sight, but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Mohegan Ruler. Up in trip should be fine, he looks the leader and with control, he’ll take getting past.

$SP.00) is an improving type for Dan O’Connor. He debuted in the Noahquintily race mentioned above from two weeks back. He got a fair way out of his ground and was quite keen in the run, but his finale was more than sound in defeat I thought. Better for the run and up in trip, he’s one for exotics.

Market took a real set against him last time at Bunbury but nobody told the horse as he produced the best late splits of the race to round them up and win quite impressively. Comes to town but maps ideally and I don’t think, as a whole, this is a strong race.

This guy is first up, having not raced since May 4 at Ascot when leading and giving a bold sight but couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late by Rope Them In. Son of War Chant that resumes, having not raced since March 30 at Ascot when near the speed and pulling but didn’t quite have the finale to go with them late in the piece behind Snow Prince. Unbeaten fresh and looked sharp in a recent trial here. Watch the market.

$SP.00) is a ripper for Team Williams and has to be the straight bat play. Very consistent mare that is rarely far away, as seen this prep in two runs. Class kicked in late when a first up winner over 1000m here before going to 1200m three weeks ago where she got off the speed and found the line strongly in defeat when second to Triple Jay. Third up and hard fit, she’s clearly the one to beat.

$SP.00) doesn’t win out of turn but she is a hard fit/in form filly. Far from disgraced two back in the Belmont Guineas before backing up and coming back to 1400m when looming but just lacked the killer blow when fourth to Dance Boss. Has a touch of quality and should be around the mark.

$SP.00) comes back to 1400m after winning a Listed race over 2200m at Bunbury last time, where he was near the speed throughout and fought on very strongly late in the piece to score. Back in trip, he’ll be run off his legs I dare say but will be stronger than most at the end.

$SP.00) for me. Team Williams trained mare that resumed over 1000m here a few weeks ago in what was pretty much a barrier trial but she did find the line well enough in a good return behind Bayezid. Love the rise up in trip for her and the tick over trial was very good I thought, indicating she’s on track for this.

$SP.00) has to be given another look for Dan Morton. She was odds on a fortnight back at this track/distance where it was just a horrendous from the 600m onwards, getting badly held up when seemingly building the revs. If she gets clear air and time to wind up, she’ll take holding out.

There looks to be clear intent with 3 Minsk Moment (Bet Now: $4.60), who resumes for Adam Durrant. He did have a short stint with Chris Waller and wasn’t too bad but wasn’t the same horse so he’s back with Durrant and I’ve been very taken by his three trials in readiness for his return. Clear intent and for mine, is the one to beat.

$SP.00), a quality mare for Colin Webster that resumes. She hasn’t raced since the La Trice over 1800m at Ascot when game in defeat, beaten narrowly by Yonga Lass. 1200m is clearly on the short side for her but she loves Belmont, she can sprint well fresh and moved well in a recent trial.
