Going to start the meeting with the best bet on the program, which is 4 Commissions (Bet Now:Â $3.80). Not sure what the go has been with this horse given he was with Michael Hickmott, then went to Dane Smith in Victoria where he looked very sharp in trial/jumpout work, and is now with Hickmott. Off what I have seen in his trial/jumpout work, he looks a very nice horse and confident he can kick off his racing career with a win.
Danger
8 Reel Whiskey (Bet Now: $3.20) should be better for the first up run at the midweeks, which came at Gawler when on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite sustain the run, tiring late when a close up third. Fitter and up in trip, firmer footing, he should prove to be a leading contender.
Long Shot
11 Caribbean Breeze (Bet Now: $5.50) creates interest given she jumps straight to 1400m after racing three weeks back over 1050m when wide throughout and that hard run just told late in the piece behind Richie D’Amour. If 1400m is okay, with a soft trip in transit, I think she’s a threat at odds.
Race 2. (12:12) Steward Steel Supplies (Bm66) 1000m

1 Cap Ten (Bet Now:Â $6.50) for me. Team Freedman trained juvenile that resumed on the Synthetic at Ballarat where he defied a notable betting drift late in the piece and was far too good, proving quite strong to the line in winning. Tricky draw, but should press forward and prove hard to beat I say.
Danger
9 Duchess Of Sussex (Bet Now: $4.80) is a talented filly that resumes for Phillip Stokes. This girl is first up after a three run Autumn prep where she showed good talent. Given a break, has jumped out well in readiness for the return and the depth here, as a whole, isn’t overly deep.
Long Shot
11 Avanzo (Bet Now: $51.00) is an improver at odds. Team Jolly trained filly that resumed at this track/distance where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never threatening, she made up ground and was solid enough in defeat behind Sir Now. If she can settle closer, she’s dangerous at odds.
Race 3. (12:47) Golden Grove Tavern Dave Menzies Memorial (Bm78) 2500m

6 Smiling Assassin (Bet Now:Â $8.00) for me, is one of the better bets on the card. He saves his best for this track/distance and comes here off a win, which came two weeks ago on the Parks track at Morphettville where it came down to survival of the fittest and strongest, which he was. Back to his favourite track/distance, I like him a lot, especially off a win.
Danger
2 Lake’s Folly (Bet Now: $3.80) commands respect. He ran second to Smiling Assassin a fortnight back at Morphettville Parks. He was there to win when clear and for a few strides in the straight, he did look the winner, but couldn’t quite see it through. Hopefully on a firmer deck, home track, he appeals.
Long Shot
4 Red Patrol (Bet Now: $5.50) is racing in super form for Wayne Walters and is one of the key prospects. He ran behind Test The Kaw a few weeks back where he got a fair way out of his ground but worked home with real purpose and was quite good in defeat when a close up third to Test The Law. Repeats that effort here, he’ll go close.
Race 4. (13:22) Beyond Ink (Rs0mw) 1000m

8 Togetherforever (Bet Now:Â $5.00) gets the nod for me. Michael Hickmott trained mare that resumes, having not raced since May 11 during the Carnival at Morphettville when down the track, producing an end of prep run behind Pure Paradise. Looks to have found a very winnable race for her return so happy to be in her corner, especially on the home track with strong form from last prep.
Danger
4 Lunar Solar (Bet Now: $13.00) has been quite dominant at Port Augusta recently so it’ll be interesting to see if she can translate that form to the turf again. Her past two starts/wins have come at Port Augusta and each time she has been impressive. Harder here, but hard to knock the way she’s racing, she’s hard fit and in form.
Long Shot
11 Jimmy’s Edge (Bet Now: $23.00) is dangerous with his best. He ran two weeks back on the Parks track at Morphettville where he did too much work on speed and just tired late in the piece behind Magic Field. I think he’d love firmer footing and a more patient steer, so he can run an improved race if that scenario eventuates.
Race 5. (13:57) Spry Civil Construction (Bm66) 2000m

7 Chosen Miss (Bet Now: $10.00) is a ripping mare for Garret Lynch and she’ll love the rise to 2000m. She won two weeks ago over 1950m on the Parks track, saving ground nearer the inside and given she stays all day, she kept finding late and drove hard to nail Gleitus near the peg. The rise to 2000m on the bigger track should be fine and she’s hard to beat.
Danger
6 Ichibansan (Bet Now: $8.50) is finding it hard to win for Clarken/O’Shea but he is an honest animal that isn’t too far away. He ran behind Chosen Miss two weeks back where he just did too much work in the run and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Chosen Miss. If there is petrol left in the tank, he’ll be around the mark.
Long Shot
1 Dr Dee Dee (Bet Now: $13.00) has to lump the weight but he is a horse who can carry weight successfully. He is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when contesting a far stronger race than this and didn’t disgrace himself at all behind Test The Law. Back to this level, he appeals.

11 Bonnie Gangster (Bet Now: $12.00) for me in what looks an open contest. She ran over 1700m last Saturday at Gawler where she looked all over a winner when presented in the straight but just couldn’t quite finish the job when beaten a lip by Shakespeare. Back to the mile suits, maps to stalk a good tempo and will be strong late.
Danger
4 Favourite Child (Bet Now: $2.60) is absolutely flying for Clarken/O’Shea. On the seven day back up after bolting up at Gawler last Saturday where she dropped in grade/depth and made an absolute mess of them in an outstanding effort. If she handles the back up, she surely has to be one of the hardest to beat.
Long Shot
3 Worsfold (Bet Now: $16.00) rates highly for Ali Brook. He ran over 1550m a fortnight back at Morphettville Parks where he tried hard from off the speed but just couldn’t quite pick up quick enough and had to settle for a second to Victorian raider Cawdor. He has found positive form, and his best is more than good enough to take this out.

3 Headphones (Bet Now: $15.00) saves her best for this track/distance and should prove hard to beat for Judy Streets. First run for the stable came two weeks ago over 1250m at Morphettville Parks and I thought did a really good job to close off like she did in defeat behind Great Maximus. Great set up here, I think she’s the each way bet.
Danger
1 Brave Star (Bet Now:Â $3.50) is right up in the weights but he is flying for Phillip Stokes and rates highly for mine. He ran over this trip at Morphettville Parks a fortnight back. He got stuck wide no cover for the trip and was brave in defeat I thought given the work he did when fourth to Komachi. If he can get a more economical run in transit, he takes beating.
Long Shot
5 Wheels (Bet Now:Â $51.00) is 1/1 at Murray Bridge and I think can be a big improvrer at odds. She resumed behind Great Maximus two weeks back on the Parks track at Morphettville. She was last throughout and struggled over the trip in the conditions. Hopefully for her sake, she can get firmer footing and while she may need another run and a further rise in trip, her best is more than good enough.

5 The Seven Seas (Bet Now:Â
$SP.00) has to be given another look. This mare resumed several weeks ago at Morphettville when wide no cover throughout and that hard run just told late in the piece, finishing down the track behind Starlite Valley. Looked sharp in a tick over trial and her prior form is more than good enough to take this out.
Danger
3 Maracourt (Bet Now:Â
$SP.00 ) is racing really well without winning for Michael Hickmott. Market said he was a good thing at Morphettville a few weeks back and he looked all over the winner when he dashed to the front but was nabbed late by Victorian raider Soaring Eagle. He is becoming hard to trust, but surely a win is near for him?
Long Shot
6 Bonjour (Bet Now:Â
$SP.00) can run an improved race for Paul Preusker. He found a very testing track at Donald last time and struggled to pick up in the conditions behind Jessup. He should find firmer footing here and his prior efforts were more than good enough to take this out.

2 Lingani (Bet Now:Â $8.00) is a very good filly for Team Blanch and I think they have realised that she is a short course type. Big win from her two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks. She got back a fair way but was able to rail through, slice her way into clear air and drove hard to finish best. Talented, above average and should prove extremely hard to beat.
Danger
11 Hajra (Bet Now: $4.20) for me. Clarken/O’Shea trained filly that has done little wrong since joining the stable. Beaten a few weeks ago at Murray Bridge but her run was very good given she got back to near last in the run and spotted those in front a start but her finale was strong when third to The Great Baby. She’ll be launching at them late.
Long Shot
3 Kalasec (Bet Now:Â $10.00) is hit and miss at times but he does love Murray Bridge and has found positive form, which came at Morphettville Parks two weeks back where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was good in defeat behind Lingani. Back to where he races best, he can take this out.

16 Sabermetric (Bet Now: $20.00) is several weeks between runs for Richards/Moyle since racing over 1100m at Morphettville when first up. He was wide no cover on a hot speed and just couldn’t sustain the run, feeling the pinch and finishing down the track behind Sportsbeat. Better ridden with more patience, his best is good enough to take this out.
Danger
2 Classy Kenny (Bet Now:Â $9.00) is a veteran for Hickmott/Riggs but bobs up every now and then, as seen a fortnight back at Morphettville Parks, giving them a start and a beating, launching late to win and win well. Not the best of records at Murray Bridge but is an honest bugger and will just keep finding the line.
Long Shot
6 Portration (Bet Now: $15.00) is a son of Duporth for Team Jaensch that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since March 22 at Mount Gambier when getting into a decent spot behind the speed but just couldn’t quite finish the race off behind Kordia. Good fresh horse…watch the market.
