Belmont racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:34) Tabtouch Westspeed (1600m)
#8 – Cruise to Victory @ $2.20
Cruise to Victory comes off an impressive win at Bunbury, and it has been well-backed to win again.
The four-year-old gelding gets the services of William Pike, and that could make all the difference on Saturday.
We expect him to run well again.
Race 2. (14:09) Glenroy Chaff Plate (1400m)
#1 – Noahquintilly @ $2.50
Noahquintilly was too good for them at Belmont last time out, and having winning form on the track is ideal.
The two-year-old filly looks to have good upside, and there isn’t much depth to this field, so she could take advantage.
Look for her odds to firm on race day.
Race 3. (14:48) MacMahon Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Hostile Talk @ $5.50
Looking for consecutive wins is Hostile Talk, who won well at Bunbury.
The three-year-old son of War Chant scored narrowly as a $3.10 chance, so punters get better odds this time around.
It’s another good ride for Pike, so include him in selections.
Race 4. (15:28) Mrs Mac’s BM78 (1400m)
#2 – Yonga Lass @ $2.60
Yonga Lass owns seven wins and three placings from 14 starts, so form is with the favourite.
The four-year-old mare by Universal Ruler is a four-time winner over the distance, and we thought her odds would be shorter.
Getting barrier two should see her land on the speed and kick strongly.
Race 5. (16:04) Craig Yeo Memorial 1MW (1400m)
#6 – Doctor Jay @ $4.40
Doctor Jay won well fresh up at Pinjarra and he followed it up with a placing at Belmont.
The three-year-old son of War Chant owns two wins and two placings from five starts overall, which is a great record.
The inside draw is ideal, and the odds appeal.
Race 6. (16:39) Budget Car and Truck Rental BM72 (1600m)
#2 – Playhouse Patron @ $5.00
Seeking consecutive wins is Playhouse Patron, who was too slick for them at Belmont last start.
The four-year-old gelding by Patronize is a three-time winner on the track, and getting weight off his back is ideal.
We’re happy to include him in selections at the price.
Race 7. (17:16) Celebrating Racehorse 1MW (1000m)
#3 – King’s Honour @ $4.80
King’s Honour is already a three-time winner this preparation, and although his campaign is long, he keeps performing.
The three-year-old son of King’s Troop owns three wins and three placings from eight starts, so he’s good for another run.
Punters get each-way odds for the loose favourite.
Race 8. (17:52) Beaufine Stakes (1000m)
#4 – Man Crush @ $3.90
Man Crush owns a win fresh up and he has been backed to win the feature race.
The four-year-old son of Manhattan Rain is a five-time winner overall, and it’s good to follow the betting support.
Barrier four should give him every chance in the run.
Race 9. (18:30) Budget Mini Bus BM66 (1200m)
#15 – Angel Undercover @ $3.60
Angel Undercover owns three wins from six starts, and she could make a winning return.
The three-year-old filly by Harry Angel is a past winner at Belmont and a two-time winner over the distance.
With 55.5kg on her back, she should be tough to beat.
