Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (18:00) Mr Award Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Good View Glory

Good View Glory turned his form around with a win at Happy Valley, and he could measure up to this level.

The four-year-old son of American Pharoah gets all favours from barrier four, which could make him tough to beat.

Look for each-way odds on race day.

Race 2. (18:30) Joy and Fun Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Superb Capitalist

Superb Capitalist looked good winning consecutive races at Happy Valley, and he can handle racing at Sha Tin.

The four-year-old gelding is a past winner at Sha Tin, and there aren’t any superstars in this field.

Getting weight off his back helps his chances.

Race 3. (19:00) Miraculous Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Aromatica

Aromatica comes off consecutive placings at Sha Tin, and it won’t take him long to win his first race.

The four-year-old son of Ribchester owns two placings from three starts on the track, so racing at Sha Tin helps him.

Barrier four is ideal, and punters should get each-way odds.

Race 4. (19:30) Solar Hei Hei Handicap (1800m)

#11 – Flying Silver

Flying Silver isn’t always the most consistent type going around, but he won well two starts back.

The five-year-old son of Gleneagles wasn’t too far away when fifth last time out, and he could take advantage of this field.

Dropping to 54.5kg makes him tough to beat.

Race 5. (20:00) Victory Marvel Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Ka Ying Warrior

Ka Ying Warrior has been mixing his form since running last on debut, including consecutive second placings.

The five-year-old gelding has been well-backed in all four career starts, so a win shouldn’t be too far away.

He only needs a touch of luck from the wide draw.

Race 6. (20:30) Medic Kingdom Handicap (1400m)

#7 – Brilliant Express

Brilliant Express comes off a third placing at Sha Tin, and that should be an excellent form guide.

The three-year-old gets all favours off the inside draw, and having Hugh Bowman riding helps his cause.

He should be tough to beat against this field.

Race 7. (21:00) Big Profit Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Steps Ahead

Steps Ahead is nearing a win after three consecutive placings, and he has been backed in every start.

The three-year-old son of Written By wasn’t far away when third at Sha Tin, and having Purton riding is ideal.

He should be too good for this field.

Race 8. (21:35) The Hong Kong Association Handicap (1600m)

#1 – Moments in Time

Moments in Time has yet to fire at Sha Tin, but he is a six-time winner from 18 starts overall.

The four-year-old son of Lookin at Lucky ran at Group 1 level two back behind Rebel’s Romance, so the form checks out.

We’re happy to stick with him at this level.

Race 9. (22:10) Pingwu Spark Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Silo

Silo is a former Singapore runner with four wins and four placings from eight starts.

The three-year-old son of National Defense comes off three consecutive wins, and he has been running at short odds.

Getting the inside draw is a nice introduction to racing in Hong Kong.

Race 10. (22:45) Sight Winner Handicap (1600m)

#10 – Ariel

Ariel looked good when winning two back at Sha Tin, and we’re happy to overlook his most recent effort.

The six-year-old gelding by Exceed and Excel is a four-time winner overall, and getting in with 53.5kg is ideal.

He should run well at each-way odds.

Race 11. (23:20) All You Wish Handicap (1400m)

#1 – Patch of Theta

Patch of Theta owns three wins and six placings from nine starts, so the form is tough to overlook.

The four-year-old son of Zoustar won well two back before placing last time out, which is ideal form for this race.

It’s another good ride for Bowman, so include in picks.
