Belmont racing tips

Race 1. (13:24) Amelia Park Plate (1400m)

#1 – Street Band

Street Band is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring at Ascot and Belmont.

The two-year-old colt by Lucky Street needs some luck from the wide draw but getting weight off his back helps.

We expect money to come for him on race day.

Race 2. (13:59) Renew Waroa Membership BM66 (1000m)

#6 – Rumour Says

Rumour Says is threatening to get back to winning form after finishing third fresh up at Belmont.

The four-year-old mare by Deep Field is a three-time winner on the track, and she usually shows good barrier speed.

Barrier two is ideal and punters should get value odds.

Race 3. (14:34) WA Spirit of Racing BM78 (1650m)

#5 – Oly’s Choice

Oly’s Choice comes off three consecutive wins, so he’s tough to bet against on Saturday.

The five-year-old gelding by Demerit has yet to finish worse than second in three starts at Belmont, so he loves the track.

Barrier two with William Pike riding adds to his appeal.

Race 4. (15:10) Tabtouch Winter Series Heat 3 (1300m)

#10 – Elbow Lounge

Elbow Lounge is threatening to win a race after posting four consecutive second placings.

The four-year-old gelding is only a one-time winner, and he’s falling into the trap of finding one better, but we’re sticking with him.

Getting every chance from barrier two means he should be tough to beat.

Race 5. (15:50) Free Entry to Belmont Park (1650m)

#6 – Imperialize

Imperialize owns a win and a placing at Belmont, and although he’s not overly consistent, he can handle this field.

The four-year-old son of Patronize has race fitness on his side having finished nicely for third last time out at Pinjarra.

He’s good enough to figure in the finish at odds.

Race 6. (16:39) Drummond Golf Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Bondi Bubbles

Bondi Bubbles comes off seven straight wins, including one at Pinjarra last start as a $14.00 chance.

The three-year-old has done most of his winning in easier races, but his win at Pinjarra means he can handle this class.

Punters should follow any positive betting moves on race day.

Race 7. (17:15) Petaluma 1MW (1200m)

#6 – Mocha Dream

Mocha Dream won well fresh up at Geraldton before finishing fifth at Belmont last time out.

The four-year-old son of Dream Ahead is a four-time winner from 13 starts, so he‘s good enough to beat this field.

We’re happy to include him in selections at the odds.

Race 8. (17:50) Swan Draught Strickland Stakes (2000m)

#1 – Western Empire @ $1.70

Western Empire is the best horse in the race, hence the odds-on quote from bookmakers.

The six-year-old gelding by Iffraaj is a nine-time winner overall, including consecutive wins at Northam and Belmont.

Having William Pike in the saddle adds to our confidence, so include the odds in multis.

Race 9. (18:30) Tabtouch BM66 (1400m)

#11 – Celebrity Prince

Celebrity Prince is better for two runs back from a spell, and he doesn’t need to improve much to win on Saturday.

He’s a two-time winner from 13 starts, and he owns a win and three placings from five starts at Belmont.

Carrying 55kg makes him tough to hold out.
