Eagle Farm racing tips

Race 1. (11:43) Seven The Wayne Wilson (1600m)

#1 – Freedom Rally @ $1.95

Freedom Rally is knocking on the door of a win following close-up finishes behind the likes of I Wish I Win and Here to Shock.

That’s excellent form for this level of racing, and the four-year-old deserves to be at short odds for the opening race.

Inside draw with James McDonald riding helps.

Race 2. (12:18) Maker’s Mark Hinkler Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Pereille @ $2.10

Pereille has been in excellent form this preparation, scoring two wins and two second placings.

The four-year-old son of Fastnet Rock owns four wins and 11 placings from 16 starts, so he’s never too far away from the mark.

It’s another good ride for McDonald, and punters should be confident.

Race 3. (12:53) Sen Oxlade Stakes (1300m)

#8 – Don’t Forget Jack @ $4.80

Don’t Forget Jack is unbeaten after two wins at Muswellbrook and Doomben, and he can handle this field.

The two-year-old son of Headwater won by three lengths last time out, so that form is tough to overlook, and it has been franked.

Take the drifting each-way odds available with bookmakers.

Race 4. (13:28) XXXX Brisbane Cup (3200m)

#7 – Mostly Cloudy @ $2.60

The five-year-old is getting close to posting a win after running second at Flemington last time out.

The son of Harzand is a six-time winner overall, and running second behind The Map is solid form for the Brisbane Cup.

Getting in with 55kg helps over this distance, and that’s his best attribute against a field of stayers that are just below the countries’ best.

Race 5. (14:03) Sky Racing Gunsynd Classic (1600m)

#9 – Geriatrix @ $7.50

The Kiwi was too good for them last time out, and he’s good enough to make the rise in class to stakes grade.

The three-year-old colt by Almanzor owns four wins from 10 starts, and going from 1400m to 1600m only helps his chances.

Craig Williams takes the ride, and we’re happy to include the New Zealand runner at generous each-way odds, considering the amout of improvement he has to come.

Race 6. (14:38) J.J. Atkins (1600m) – GROUP 1

Race 7. (15:17) Magic Millions Dane Ripper Stakes (1300m)

#1 – Roots @ $9.00

Roots is a runner who will get back in the run, but if she gets things go her way, she can flash over the top late.

The Chris Waller-trained five-year-old owns seven wins and six placings from 24 starts, and it pays to overlook her most recent run.

She is better suited going this way around, and punters get value odds to snap up on Saturday.

Race 8. (15:57) Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) – GROUP 1

Race 9. (16:30) Q22 (2200m) – GROUP 1
