Murray Bridge racing tips
—
Race 1. (11:27) Jockey Watch C1 (900m)
#2 – Putanothercoinin @ $3.70
Putanothercoinin shows good form fresh up, and he could hit the ground running on Saturday.
The three-year-old gelding by Jukebox owns a win and two placings from five starts, so he’s good enough to beat this field.
He just needs luck from the wide barrier.
Race 2. (12:02) Fred Vella Tyres & Repairs BM76 (1600m)
#6 – He’s Beset @ $2.70
Class is with He’s Beset, who owns three wins and seven placings from 13 starts.
The four-year-old is a former New Zealand runner with plenty of natural ability, which bodes well at Murray Bridge.
We expect money to come for him on race day.
Race 3. (12:37) Congrats Hazel Fertier Plate (1200m)
#3 – Dyer @ $2.40
Dyer did well to win on debut at Morphettville before being sent for a spell, which is usually a good sign.
The two-year-old son of Zousain kicked off with a trial placing this preparation, so he could hit the ground running.
Money has come for him, so the betting support is ideal.
Race 4. (13:12) Thomas Farms BM78 (2000m)
#6 – Smokin’ Princess @ $2.20
Smokin’ Princess is already a three-time winner this preparation, including a win at Murray Bridge last time out.
The four-year-old mare has yet to fire in two starts over the distance, but we’re not worried by that as she has the class edge.
Getting $2.20 is a fair price for the favourite.
Race 5. (13:47) Fast Form BM64 (1200m)
#5 – Talkin’ Italian @ $5.50
Value is with Talkin’ Italian, who was good enough to score consecutive wins earlier this preparation.
The four-year-old owns two wins and four placings from nine starts, so he’s never too far away from the prize.
Punters get each-way odds, and he’s worth including in selections.
Race 6. (14:22) Bet with Mates BM64 (1200m)
#10 – Hajra @ $2.60
Hajra has been excellent in winning twice this preparation, including wins at Murray Bridge and Morphettville.
Having winning form on the track is handy, and there are no superstars in this field, so he could take advantage and win three on the bounce.
After opening at $2.80, money has come for him.
Race 7. (14:57) Spry Civil Construction (1400m)
#7 – Billie Bronx @ $6.00
Billie Bronx is a model of consistency this season, and she could return from a spell in good order.
The four-year-old daughter of Manhattan Rain gets in with only 52kg on her back, so she has every chance to beat this field.
Gettnig $6.00 for a runner of her ability is generous.
Race 8. (15:37) Happy 70th Deane Pannell Plate (1200m)
#13 – Lingani @ $3.90
Lingani owns two wins from four starts, including a win last time out by 4.8 lengths.
The three-year-old filly by America paid only $1.70 to win, so punters get better odds this time around.
That’s tough to ignore, and she’s another runner getting in with a light weight.
Race 9. (16:17) Carlton Draught BM78 (1000m)
#8 – Klabel @ $2.80
Klabel is better with a run under his belt this preparation when finishing third at Morphettville.
The Jolly-trained four-year-old is a two-time winner at Murray Bridge, and he’s getting close to posting his first win over the distance.
Barrier three is ideal and money has come for him.
Race 10. (16:50) Same Race Multi Handicap (1800m)
#5 – Tippa @ $5.00
Tippa doesn’t know how to run a bad race, so there’s no reason to leave him out of selections.
The three-year-old owns two wins and three placings, including a good win fresh up before adding placings at Morphettville.
3kg comes off his back and punters get each-way odds.
