Race 1. (12:17) Sportsbet Photo Finish Refund (Rs0mw) 1950m

Back Me

5 Holmes (Bet Now: $4.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. This guy has been up a little while but he is a horse who is holding his form really well. He ran over 2000m at Murray Bridge last Saturday when a fair way out of his ground but worked home with real purpose in a good effort behind Lottaroc. If he can settle closer, he takes beating.

Danger

4 Only Old Once (Bet Now: $4.40) is one of the key threats. Richard Cully trained gelding who is lightly raced and has talent, as seen at Seymour last time where he got a suck run in transit behind the speed before angling clear and he finished off his race quite powerfully to win and win well. Hard to beat against these.

Long Shot

7 Delta Tango (Bet Now: $27.00) should appreciate a rise in trip. Travis Doudle trained mare that resumed over 1700m at Gawler where she got back in the run and failed to make up any real headway when down the track behind Leader’s Pride. She does have a good record at this distance range and her best is more than good enough.

Race 2. (12:52) Sportsbet Set A Deposit Limit Hcp (C1) 1000m

Back Me

2 Zanthron (Bet Now: $4.80) is one of the leading contenders. He resumed three weeks ago at this track/distance in a strong 3YO race. He found the line strongly and for a few strides, looked the winner, but was nabbed late by Lingani. Back a fair way in depth here and with natural upside/improvement, rates highly.

Danger

4 Shadowfax (Bet Now: $6.50) is three weeks between runs for Chris Bieg since racing at this track/distance when near the speed throughout and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite finish the job behind Magic Field. Good track/distance record and for mine, is one of the hardest to beat against these.

Long Shot

12 Valentina Charm (Bet Now: $41.00) is an interesting runner. David Jolly trained mare that comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since June 8 at this track/distance, getting back off the speed and failed to make up any real headway behind Morris Minor. Her best is more than good enough so watch the market.

Race 3. (13:27) Quayclean (Bm74) 2250m

Back Me

5 Brawl (Bet Now: $5.00) should take beating against this lot. Four weeks between runs for Paul Preusker since racing over 2500m on the course proper here where he got a fair way out of his ground but worked home with real purpose late in the piece behind Dixie Whistler. Fresh legs and slightly back in trip is fine and the depth here is nowhere near as deep.

Danger

9 A Touch Frosty (Bet Now: $13.00) has to be given another look. No idea what to make of his run at Gawler a fortnight back. He was near last in the run, came wide to try and make a run, but he was just never a factor so forgive and forget he went around. Prior efforts were sound and off those, he can take out a race like this.

Long Shot

7 Badiss (Bet Now: $9.50)…what on earth was that win at Gawler? Rank outsider and he just led them a merry dance, winning by a space and was just very, very impressive. Beaten 37 lengths the start prior, so that is why he had the big SP at Gawler, but off that run, I think you have to say he commands respect.

Race 4. (14:02) Julie Seed (Rs1ly) 1400m

Back Me

6 Komachi (Bet Now: $4.50) is a leading chance. Clarken/O’Shea trained gelding that let down with real purpose to win three weeks ago at this track/distance, sprouting wings late from off the speed to score. He has been hard to catch at times but was sneaky flying prior and duly saluted. He can repeat the dose.

Danger

1 Neodium (Bet Now: $6.00) is a son of Terango that resumes for Phillip Stokes. This guy is first up, having not raced since March 16 when down the track over 1550m here behind Cullen Skink, who was flying at the time. 1400m fresh signals some form of intent and he strikes a winnable race. Watch the market.

Long Shot

4 Annihilate (Bet Now: $8.00) is a model of consistency for Chris Bieg that should be around the mark once again. He ran two weeks ago over 1500m at Gawler where he got off the speed and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line in a good effort behind in form mare Favourite Child. Back to this level, he rates as one of the hardest to beat.

Race 5. (14:37) South Australian Sires’ Produce Stakes 1400m

Back Me

The Oaklands looks the key form race from three weeks ago. I want to give 4 Big Brute (Bet Now: $11.00) another chance. Market really liked him late but unfortunately he got caught wide throughout for the trip and the hard run told in the straight, finishing down the track behind Femminile. The debut win at Balaklava was electric and off that, he’s hard to beat against these.

Danger

5 Serinite Illusion (Bet Now: $18.00) is getting better with racing and experience. He comes through the Oaklands where he got too far back in the run and was never really a winning threat but kept finding the line in a good effort when fourth to Femminile. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll be hard to hold out.

Long Shot

1 Colmar (Bet Now: $4.50) is a beauty for the Daniel/Stanbury camp. He did a mountain of work before eventually getting on speed in the Oaklands and amazingly, he kicked and looked the winner, only to be bloused on the peg by Femminile. If there is petrol left in the tank, he has to be rated highly.

Race 6. (15:17) Peter Elberg Funerals (Bm68) 1550m

Back Me

7 Bit Of A Rebel (Bet Now: $4.40) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran over 1400m here a few weeks back where he got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard when a close up third to impressive winner Komachi. Good track/distance record, hard fit, good racing style…hard to beat.

Danger

8 Mean Feat (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Lindsey Smith trained gelding that has been quite good in recent runs on the Ballarat Synthetic, winning impressively two back before a gutsy second to a nice horse, Orion The Hunter, who has run well at metro level previously, so that form reads well and I do think 1550m is okay.

Long Shot

11 Rose Of Duporth (Bet Now: $16.00) is a sneaky chance at odds for the Bain/Taylor camp. She ran in the Komachi race from three weeks back where she got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a threat, she kept finding the line and was a pass mark. Up in trip I don’t mind and handles wet ground.

Race 7. (15:57) Aig Security (Bm64) 1550m

Back Me

3 Stardealt (Bet Now: $23.00) for me but gee this is a tough race. Jason Warren trained gelding that resumed at Bendigo where he got back off the speed and failed to get involved when down the track behind Fly Bye. Tick over trial at Pakenham Synthetic was quite good and maps to get a suck run. Off his prior form, he takes beating.

Danger

4 Maxildo (Bet Now: $4.20) looks the leader and from there, will take running down I am sure. He led most of the way at Gawler a fortnight back and gave a very strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Hard Prince. If this track is playing towards those on speed, he’s going to be hard to get past.

Long Shot

5 Navy Gold (Bet Now: $11.00) is a knockout hope. He landed on speed at Gawler two weeks back and tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite finish the race off but that said, he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Hard Prince. If he gets an economical run in transit, he appeals here.

Race 8. (16:32) The Fotobase Group (Bm76) 1250m

Back Me

8 Sweet Baby Boom (Bet Now: $9.50) loves wet ground and with the rain forecast, she does get conditions to suit and for mine, is the one to beat. Thought she was a bit on the plain side at Gawler last time but it was a race where the race shape wasn’t suited to her I feel so I am going to be forgiving. Wet track, 1/1 at the track, like her.

Danger

5 Metro Legend (Bet Now: $13.00) lands on speed and will take running down. That is what he did a fortnight back at Gawler and gave a very strong kick but had no answers late for the finale of Klabel, the form horse in Adelaide at the moment, so that form reads well, good racing style and handles wet ground.

Long Shot

15 Overextend (Bet Now: $23.00) is an improver for Bain/Taylor. Formerly with Rod Northam at Scone, this guy ran behind Magic Field at Morphettville Parks a few weeks back where he struggled in the conditions so a total forgive. His best NSW form clearly reads well for a race like this.

Race 9. (17:10) Dominant Hcp (64) 1250m

What’s gambling really costing you?

Back Me

2 Solar Blast (Bet Now: $5.50) has a fab second up record and does like the track/distance. I thought he would be hard to beat when resuming at Gawler but after getting a decent enough run in transit off the speed, he failed to come on and was quite plain late in the piece. He has credits in the bank from last prep so I am going to give him another chance.

Danger

5 Commander Meroo (Bet Now: $23.00) is a track/distance winner and his best is good enough to take this out. He ran a fortnight back at Gawler where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat behind Everglade. Dangerous big time if he can get a drag into the race.

Long Shot

9 Soames (Bet Now: $26.00) looks to have returned in good order. He resumed two weeks back over 1200m at Murray Bridge where he got into a decent spot near the speed and presented to win but just couldn’t quite see it through when third to Flyin For Us. Better for the run, and I think with a more patient steer, he’ll take beating.

BEST BET: Race Three Number 5 Brawl

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 8 Sweet Baby Boom

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 4 Big Brute

Quaddie (Races Six Through To Nine):

Leg One: 3, 7, 8, 9, 11

Leg Two: 3, 4, 5, 7

Leg Three: 8

Leg Four: 2, 4, 5, 9
