2023-24 Panini Phoenix Basketball is not a set commemorating the Suns’ first-round exit at the hands of a Minnesota sweep. Rather, it’s the chromium brand’s debut as a standalone hoops release. Hobby boxes have three hits, two of which are autographs. Plenty of inserts and parallels are also on the checklist.
2023-24 Panini Phoenix Basketball Checklist Overview
Panini has several chrome-based basketball lines like Prizm, Select, Spectra, Donruss Optic and Contenders Optic, to name a few. What helps set Phoenix apart is its busy designs. This starts with the base set. Rather than going with silver frames, cards get the full-bleed treatment with lots of lines and angles running throughout. It embraces its loud flair and runs with it.
Parallels, which are approximately one per hobby pack, take it a step further. Yes, there are some traditional colors, but there are also further patterns and combinations like Lava, Dream Weaver, and Fire and Ice.
Rookie Jersey Autographs are among the signature highlights. These are joined by Dual Rookie Jersey Autographs that double things up.
Veterans and retired stars are also a part of Phoenix’s signatures with sets like Calligraphy.
Fire Fabrics, Rookie Memorabilia, Rookie Jumbo Memorabilia and Veteran Materials are among the options for the one-per-box relics.
While Phoenix has several insert lines, Archetypes, Shooting Stars and Phoenician rank among the rarest.
Phoenix has been around for years in football. It has also been a part of the anthology-style Panini Chronicles Basketball.
