Golf’s third major of the year begins this week, and it will feature 12 golfers from the PGA’s rival league.
LIV Golf is sending a dozen of its finest to Pinehurst, North Carolina for the 2024 U.S. Open, which begins on Thursday. Featured in LIV’s participants are four former U.S. Open champions, including the champion from the last time Pinehurst Resort hosted the major – Martin Kaymer in 2014.
The Saudi-backed golf league was close to seeing one of its players win a major last month, but Bryson DeChambeau finished one stroke behind Xander Schauffele to end as the runner-up in the PGA Championship.
