Belmont racing tips

Race 1. (13:24) Tab Touch Westspeed Platinum (1600m)

#4 – Lova Session

Lova Session is only a one-time winner from 19 starts, but she has been threatening to win again.

The four-year-old mare by Sessions comes off a second placing at Northam, and having William Pike riding helps her cause.

This looks like her race to win.

Race 2. (13:59) WA Racehorse Association Plate (1000m)

#4 – The Agency

Coming off a second placing on debut, The Agency looks like a nice type in the making.

The two-year-old colt by A Lot was only a nose behind the winner last start as a $20.00 chance, so expect shorter odds.

Getting 2kg off his back helps his cause.

Race 3. (14:34) Free Entry to Belmont Park (1000m)

#1 – Final Siren

Form is with Final Siren, who scored a good win at Belmont last time out.

The three-year-old son of I’m All the Talk owns four wins from six starts overall, including all three starts over the distance.

It’s another good ride for Pike, so include him in selections.

Race 4. (15:11) Quayclean BM66 (2200m)

#5 – Tallangatta

The six-year-old gelding owns four wins and nine placings from 34 starts, and some of his best racing comes at Belmont.

He also likes running on rain-affected tracks, so there isn’t much going against him in this race.

We expect bookmakers to open him at generous odds, so include him in selections with a light weight on his back.

Race 5. (15:49) Unite Resourcing BM72 (1600m)

#4 – Savage One

Savage One is building to a win after finishing second at Belmont last time out, and that form bodes well.

The six-year-old owns three wins and six placings at Belmont, including two wins over the distance, so the stats read well.

He should be fighting out the finish.

Race 6. (16:39) Bisley Workwear BM78 (1200m)

#3 – Yonga Lass

Yonga Lass is a professional winner of seven from 13 starts, including a win at Belmont fresh up.

The four-year-old mare by Universal Ruler won narrowly against a tidy field, so the form checks out nicely for this race.

It’s another premium ride for Pike, who could have a big day in the west.

Race 7. (17:15) WA Spirit of Racing 1MW (1400m)

#9 – Doctor Jay

Doctor Jay is already a two-time winner from four starts, including a win at Pinjarra last time out.

The three-year-old son of War Chant paid $3.70 when winning, but punters should get better odds this time around.

Barrier four suits, so he has things in his favour.

Race 8. (17:53) Amelia Park Belmont Guineas (1600m)

#2 – Brave Spirit @ $3.90

Brave Spirit owns three wins and six placings from 10 starts, including win at his last two starts.

The three-year-old gelding by Brave Smash won by 1.3 lengths at $16.00 last start, which was way over the odds.

This isn’t an easy race, but take the odds available.

Race 9. (18:30) Schweppes BM66 (1300m)

#6 – Berbere

Berbere owns three wins from seven starts, with two of those wins coming at Belmont.

Following a fresh up fourth, we expect the four-year-old son of Gingerbread Man to get back to winning form on Saturday.

Carrying 55.5kg and Pike adds weight to his chances.
