Flemington horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:50) Ken Cox Handicap (1420m)

#4 – Sneaky Sunrise @ $2.70

Sneaky Sunrise comes off a win at Flemington by 1.5 lengths, which is an ideal form guide for this race.

The two-year-old filly by The Autumn Sun looks to have enough ability to rise through the grades, and money has come for her.

We expect more money to come on race day.

Race 2. (12:25) Boys to the Bush Community Trophy (2540m)

#1 – Let’srollthedice @ $8.00

Let’srollthedice isn’t always the most consistent type going around, but he won well three starts back.

The four-year-old son of Dundeel is a past winner at Flemington, which bodes well, and the long straight helps his cause.

Punters get value odds for a quality type.

Race 3. (13:00) Rod Johnson Handicap (1620m)

#5 – Craig @ $1.65

Craig was a good thing beaten at Flemington last time out, hence the odds-on price from bookmakers.

The three-year-old missed the jump before launching a big run to miss by a nose, and it was the run of the day.

Getting in with 54kg makes him tough to beat, so include him in multis.

Race 4. (13:35) Bruce Gadsden BM90 (1420m)

#11 – Episodic @ $5.50

Episodic has been in excellent form this preparation, including three consecutive wins and a second placing.

The four-year-old by Tavistock was beaten last time out at Caulfield, but Flemington should suit her running style perfectly.

She wants time to warm up, and carrying 54kg helps.

Race 5. (14:10) Country Achiever Quality (1100m)

#2 – Who Dares @ $4.20

Who Dares is a quality gelding coming off consecutive wins at Caulfield and Flemington.

The four-year-old son of Deep Field owns four wins and nine placings from 21 starts, and the penny might have dropped now.

We’re happy with the each-way odds available.

Race 6. (14:45) The David Bourke Handicap (1620m)

#1 – Munhamek @ $4.40

Munhamek was too good for them at Swan Hill last start, and although this is harder, he has the class edge.

The eight-year-old is an 11-time winner overall, and some of his best form has come at Flemington.

He gets some weight off his back to help with the 61.5kg, so include for value.

Race 7. (15:25) VRC BM84 (1420m)

#18 – Elouyou @ $4.00

Elouyou keeps finding one better this preparation, but we’re happy to stick with him.

The four-year-old son of So You Think owns two wins and five placings from seven starts, and dropping to 54kg adds to our confidence.

Getting each-way odds is better than expected.

Race 8. (16:00) Brian Beattie Quality (2000m)

#2 – Aztec State @ $8.00

Aztec State is always around the mark, including a win at Caulfield three starts back.

The three-year-old son of Pierro has yet to win from three attempts at Flemington, but he is a winner over the distance.

Getting $8.00 is too good to pass up.

Race 9. (16:35) VRC Country Race Day Sprint (1100m)

#1 – Oak Hill @ $6.50

Oak Hill has been showing a good turn-of-foot to win his last two starts at Sandown.

The three-year-old gelding by Per Incanto is paying much better odds than we expected, so we’re taking the value.

He’s a nice up-and-comer, so take him on an each-way basis.
