Hawkesbury racing tips

Race 1. (12:50) HRC Motel Maiden (1400m)

#1 – Customized @ $1.85

Customized wasn’t far away in two starts last preparation, which came at Eagle Farm and Rosehill.

Dropping to midweek company at Hawkesbury is a big drop in class, and he was only 4.2 lengths behind Fully Lit in open company.

We thought his odds would have been around $1.55, so take the value in the opener.

Race 3. (14:05) Davo’s Dash Provincial Maiden (1100m)

#2 – Invade and Conquer @ $3.40

Invade and Conquer is getting close to posting a win after six placings, and this race is right up his alley.

The three-year-old gelding by Invader ran second at Hawkesbury two back before placing at Wyong last time out.

It’s good form, and he’s worth backing until he wins.

Race 5. (15:15) Irresistible Pools & Spas Midway (1300m)

#7 – Baranof @ $6.50

Value is with Baranof, who has been threatening to win a race this preparation.

The five-year-old gelding by Hinchinbrook does his best racing at Hawkesbury with four starts for a win and two placings.

It’s not an easy field, but we’re sticking with him at the generous odds.

Race 6. (15:50) Fowler Civil Contracting C1 (1300m)

#3 – Battle of Vienna @ $3.30

The three-year-old son of Capitalist looked good winning fresh up at Gosford, and his winning form could return.

He owns a win and three placings from six starts, and he finished second at his only start at Hawkesbury.

He’s in good hands with the Snowden’s, and we’re not surprised by his shortening odds.

Ballarat racing tips

Race 1. (13:30) Martin Collins Maiden (1100m)

#5 – Hollywood High @ $2.10

Hollywood High wasn’t far behind the winner when running second on debut at Ballarat.

That came in heavy conditions, so getting to a synthetic track could see her best form brought to the table.

The daughter of Nicconi has plenty of upside, so take anything better than $2.00.

Race 2. (14:00) Global Turf Maiden (1000m)

#7 – Eject @ $2.70

Eject should enjoy the easier level of racing having finishing seventh at Flemington and fifth at Mornington.

The Freedman-trained gelding was thrown in the deep end on debut, which followed trial wins at Cranbourne.

He has enough ability, and having a spell under his belt helps.

Race 4. (15:00) Porter Plant BM58 (1200m)

#6 – Diamond City @ $2.80

Diamond City didn’t fire at Geelong last time out, but the four-year-old mare should find this easier.

The daughter of Ilovethiscity owns a win and five placings from 12 starts overall, and she wasn’t far away when second two back.

She shows good barrier speed, so we’re happy to include her in selections.

Race 6. (16:00) Bet with Mates (1000m)

#2 – Tori’s Dee @ $4.60

Tori’s Dee is already a three-time winner this preparation, so there’s no reason to jump off his back.

The five-year-old son of Zebedee is a five-time winner from 20 starts, and all five wins came over the distance.

Punters get each-way odds to snap up, so they’re worth taking.
