Happy Valley horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (20:40) Nam Chung River Handicap (2200m)
#8 – Arthur’s Kingdom
Arthur’s Kingdom looked good winning two back at Happy Valley before finishing second at Sha Tin.
The seven-year-old son of Camelot is only a two-time winner from 33 starts, but getting barrier two adds to his appeal.
We’re happy to include him at each-way odds.
Race 2. (21:10) Ng Tung River Handicap (1200m)
#1 – The Perfect Match
The Perfect Match turned his form around when winning at Happy Valley, and we’re happy to stick with him.
He scored by a nose as a $6.40 chance, and punters should get similar odds with Hugh Bowman riding.
Barrier four adds to his appeal, so include him in selections.
Race 3. (21:40) Beas River Handicap (1650m)
#7 – Sure Joyful
Sure Joyful owns only two wins from 28 starts, but the five-year-old is worth backing.
The son of Tarzino wasn’t too far behind them at Happy Valley last start, and getting 1kg off his back is a bonus.
We’re happy with the each-way odds available.
Race 4. (22:10) Ng Tung River Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Lean Master
Gunning for consecutive wins is Lean Master, who scored by a half-length at Happy Valley last time out.
The four-year-old son of Havana Grey owns two wins at the track, and he gets 3kg off his back, which is a big help.
We fancy his chances of repeating his last effort.
Race 5. (22:40) The Pearce Memorial Challenge Cup (1650m)
#5 – Can’t Go Wong
Can’t Go Wong looks to cap off consistent form with a win, and he’s good enough to beat this tough field.
The five-year-old son of Per Incanto runs his best races at Happy Valley, and having Karis Teetan in the saddle is ideal.
Look for each-way odds on race day.
Race 6. (23:10) Ng Tung River Handicap (1200m)
#11 – Mr Good Vibes
Coming off a win at Sha Tin is Mr Good Vibes, who scored by over a length as a $6.60 chance.
The four-year-old gelding by El Roca took 12 starts to post his first win, but he could rise through the grades now.
Carrying 54.5kg makes him tough to hold out.
Race 7. (23:45) Tan Shan River Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Copartner Prance
Copartner Prance keeps winning after making it five on the bounce, and there’s no reason to jump off his back.
The four-year-old gelding by Epaulette has held off all challengers lately, and four of those wins came at Happy Valley.
Having Zac Purton in the saddle adds to our confidence.
Race 8. (00:15) Sha Tau Kok River Handicap (1650m)
#3 – Supreme Agility
Supreme Agility hasn’t been too far away in two runs in Hong Kong, so we’re backing him to win.
The three-year-old son of Setembro Chove was only 2.2 lengths behind the winner last time out, which is a good form guide.
Punters should get value odds on race day.
Race 9. (00:50) Shek Sheung River Handicap (1200m)
#3 – A Americ Te Specso
A Americ Te Specso does his best racing at Happy Valley, including four wins and five placings.
The five-year-old son of Per Incanto won well earlier this preparation before finishing third last time out.
Getting barrier four adds to his appeal.
