Goulburn racing tips

Race 1. (12:05) Goulburn Mulwaree Council Maiden (1200m)

#3 – Shalmum @ $3.20

Shalmum is getting close to posting a win after six placings from eight starts.

The three-year-old filly by Shalaa ran second at Mudgee last time out, and it’s only a matter of time before she wins.

Getting weight off her back adds to her chances.

Race 2. (12:40) Jewell Builders BM66 (1000m)

#2 – Mon Pierre @ $2.80

Mon Pierre is a two-time winner from seven starts, and that’s enough for us to include him to win.

The four-year-old son of Pierro won both starts over this distance, and although he didn’t win last prep, he should be ready to go here.

After opening at $4.20, he has been heavily backed into favouritism.

Race 5. (14:35) Aaron Grant Electrical BM58 (1300m)

#2 – Vegas Dream @ $2.60

The three-year-old son of American Pharoah ran well for second fresh up, and he’s good enough to go one better.

He owns a win and two placings from seven starts overall, and he just needs some luck from a wide barrier draw.

Money is coming for him, so take the odds available.

Race 6. (15:10) Goulburn Express Freight C2 (1000m)

#2 – Joey D’or @ $3.80

Class is with Joey D’or, who is much better than what he showed at Scone last time out.

The three-year-old gelding by Pariah owns a win and four placings from eight starts, and he’s yet to miss a placing over the distance.

We’re happy to stick with him at the current odds.

Moe racing tips

Race 2. (13:00) Able Mechanical Maiden (1200m)

#9 – Wolf Club @ $2.25

Looking to cap off consecutive placings is Wolf Club, who shouldn’t take much to win a race.

The four-year-old son of Tivaci placed at Geelong and Yarra Valley, and he has since won a jumpout at Flemington.

His odds have firmed nicely, and betting confidence is always important.

Race 4. (14:00) Collis Hair Design Maiden (2050m)

#3 – Hard Bob @ $4.60

Hard Bob is improving with every run, and he could score a win over the staying distance.

The Freedman-trained three-year-old ran third at Sale over 1744m last time out, so rising to 2050m is right up his alley.

He’s bred to stay, and this race looks right up his alley.

Race 5. (14:30) MBSS Security BM64 (2400m)

#3 – Privileged Son @ $2.30

Privileged Son turned his form around when winning at Wangaratta, and he’s good enough to win two on the bounce.

The five-year-old son of Savabeel is fitter for two runs back from a spell, and there are no superstars in this field.

Getting barrier two adds to his appeal.

Race 7. (15:30) Ladbrokes Blackbook Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Darceandermill @ $5.50

Darceandermill looks to cap off consecutive placings at Mornington and Geelong, and punters get value odds.

The five-year-old son of Lonhro is a five-time winner overall, and there isn’t much depth to this field, so he could take advantage.

Take the odds before they shorten close to race time.
