Hawkesbury racing tips

Race 2. (12:25) Lewcon Air Conditioning Maiden (1000m)

#11 – Waterski @ $3.10

Waterski doesn’t have great form but she will appreciate dropping from city class racing.

The three-year-old daughter of Street Boss is bred to be better than average, and she comes off a trial win at Rosehill.

Wet track conditions won’t worry her in the slightest.

Race 3. (13:05) Paul Dowling Memorial Maiden (1300m)

#6 – California Sunrise @ $2.50

California Sunrise hasn’t been too far away in two career starts, including a fourth fresh up.

The three-year-old filly by Pierro scored a trial win at Randwick to prepare, and she’s a fitter runner now.

We’re not surprised by her odds staying rock-solid throughout the week, and money could come late for her.

Race 5. (14:25) Prospect Promotions C1 (1500m)

#1 – Good Once @ $4.40

Good Once has been consistent throughout his career, despite owning only one win from 13 starts.

The four-year-old son of Dubleo owns nine placings, and he comes off a tidy second placing at Hawkesbury behind Allapercanto.

That form could be franked on Wednesday, so take the each-way odds.

Race 7. (15:40) Pinnacle Office Supplies C1 (1800m)

#9 – Be Real @ $3.30

We expect money to come for Be Real, who won well at Newcastle two starts back before placing at Warwick Farm.

The three-year-old daughter of Iffraaj showed a good turn-of-foot to place, and something similar would be good enough.

Getting in with 55.5kg makes her tough to hold out.

Pakenham racing tips

Race 1. (17:15) Dale Takes on Jodie Maiden (1600m)

#4 – Dream All Day @ $2.00

Dream All Day ran well enough for third on debut at Pakenham and having that run under her belt is ideal.

The well-bred filly by Savabeel was just over a length behind the winner, and we’re not surprised by the money coming for her.

Take the $2.00 odds before it firms.

Race 3. (18:15) Jane Takes on Mitchell Maiden (1400m)

#6 – Whateley @ $3.10

Whateley is on debut for the Busuttin/Young team after winning a Cranbourne jumpout.

The two-year-old colt by Written Tycoon is bred for speed, and Cranbourne jumpout form always bodes well in Melbourne.

Look for positive betting moves on race day.

Race 5. (19:15) Sarah Takes on Sandi BM58 (1400m)

#2 – Ailyak @ $2.80

The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding won well on debut when scoring at Werribee.

The three-year-old son of Grunt scored by 2.3 lengths as a $9.00 chance, so the odds are much shorter this time around.

He has a big weight to carry, but we’re including him in selections.

Race 7. (20:15) Adam Takes on Anthony Handicap (1600m)

#1 – Brazen Kingdom @ $4.80

Brazen Kingdom won well two back at Mornington before placing last time out.

The four-year-old son of Iffraaj has yet to win from four attempts at Pakenham, but he’s good enough to handle this field.

Getting 3kg off his back adds to his appeal.
