Sale racing tips
—
Race 2. (13:00) Sale Cup on Sale Now Maiden (1106m)
#5 – Rockabottle @ $4.00
Rockabottle ran second at Colac on debut, and we expect him to improve with a spell under his belt.
The three-year-old gelding by Fastnet Rock is bred to be better than average, and it’s good to see betting support come his way.
The $4.00 odds could firm to around $3.20 on race day.
Race 3. (13:30) Viatek Maiden (1415m)
#8 – Adjanni @ $2.60
Adjanni didn’t fire last time out at Sandown, but she showed more speed on debut when placing at Bendigo.
The Busuttin/Young-trained filly should enjoy racing at this level, and as the betting suggests, it won’t take her long to win.
This looks like an ideal time to strike.
Race 6. (15:00) Turnbull Toyota BM64 (2226m)
#3 – Turn It Up Tommy @ $9.00
Turn It Up Tommy is only a four-time winner from 32 starts, but he can produce the goods here.
The five-year-old son of Tivaci won well at Geelong in heavy conditions earlier this preparation before adding a placing at Sandown.
Getting weight off his back and dropping in class helps.
Race 8. (16:00) Carlton Draught BM64 (1415m)
#2 – Margie’s Boy @ $7.50
Margie’s Boy looks to win consecutive races after scoring at Seymour last time out.
The Peter Gelagotis-trained five-year-old owns three wins from 12 starts, which is a solid enough record to recommend.
Only the big weight will stop him, but the odds appeal.

Race 2. (12:45) Carlton Dry Maiden (1000m)
#4 – Fortingall @ $3.10
Fortingall has looked good in winning two recent trials at Randwick, and we thought he would be shorter with bookmakers.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained colt has shown good speed, and he will head forward with Tim Clark riding and look to dictate throughout.
We’re happy with the odds, and we priced him around $2.20.
Race 3. (13:20) Canadian Club Midway Maiden (1000m)
#2 – Explosive Torpido @ $2.40
The four-year-old mare wasn’t too far away in runs at Goulburn and Gosford last campaign, and she could come back stronger.
She comes off a trial win at Rosehill in heavy conditions, so that bodes well for a good resuming run.
She is remaining steady in betting markets, and she’s worth including in multis.
Race 5. (14:35) Peroni Super Maiden (1200m)
#7 – Jawharat Dubai @ $3.70
We have given Jawharat Dubai plenty of chances to win, and after posting six consecutive placings, we’re giving her another.
The Annabel Neasham-trained filly hit the line nicely to finish second at Randwick, and racing at Kembla is a drop in class.
The odds make her worth including.
Race 6. (15:10) Become an ITC Member BM68 (1200m)
#2 – World Alliance @ $2.25
World Alliance owns three wins and two placings from six starts, including a last start win at Hawkesbury.
The four-year-old son of Rubick will need a touch of luck from the wide draw, but he has class on his side.
We’re happy to include the favourite odds in our horse racing tips.
