Warwick Farm racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:15) Kia Ora Prague Maiden (1100m)
#14 – I Found You @ $3.40
I Found You has been found in the betting after opening at $3.40, which is a good sign.
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly is bred to be quick, and they often start well for the China Horse Club ownership group.
Her trial win at Randwick was full of class, so we’re happy with the odds
Race 2. (12:50) Drinkwise Maiden (1100m)
#5 – Te Pani @ $6.50
Te Pani ran two second placings at Warwick Farm and Canterbury last preparation, so she’s close to breaking through.
The daughter of Better Than Ready owns three second placings overall, and getting barrier two should allow a good run throughout.
We’re happy with the generous each-way odds in a solid field.
Race 3. (13:25) Tab Maiden (1300m)
#5 – Snuba @ $4.00
Snuba is on debut for Chris Waller after some pleasing trial placings, and there has been some betting support.
The three-year-old filly by Deep Field placed at Rosehill and Warwick Farm trials to prepare, and she could make a winning debut.
She’s bred for speed, and she should get all favours from the draw.
Race 4. (14:00) All Too Hard @ Vinery Stud BM64 (1100m)
#13 – Setombe @ $4.20
Setombe comes off a win at Hawkesbury in fine style, and we fancy her chances of kicking on with it.
The three-year-old filly by Harry Angel defeated Cryptonic, and although that form wasn’t franked last week, she won convincingly.
Her odds are shortening, so take the value available.
Race 5. (14:35) James Squire BM72 (2200m)
#5 – Naval Commission @ $2.70
Naval Commission is seeking three consecutive wins after scoring at Scone and Randwick.
The four-year-old gelding by Merchant Navy is a four-time winner overall from 11 starts, and punters rarely see him finish outside the money.
Getting the inside draw adds to his appeal, so put him on top at the shortening odds.
Race 6. (15:10) Triple Time @ Darley BM72 (1300m)
#5 – Edmond @ $19.00
Edmond opened at $13.00, so he has drifted with bookmakers, but we’re picking an upset win.
The Kim Waugh-trained gelding does his best racing fresh up with five starts for two wins and three placings.
That form is tough to overlook, and the odds even more so.
Race 7. (15:45) Precise Air BM78 (1200m)
#14 – Tsarina Sophia @ $5.00
Tsarina Sophia has been all around the mark without winning recently, but she comes off a trial win at Rosehill to prepare.
The four-year-old mare by Russian Revolution owns three wins throughout her career, and it’s only a matter of time before she gets back to that form.
Punters get each-way odds, and she should run accordingly.
Race 8. (16:20) Admire Mars at Arrowfield BM72 (1600m)
#2 – Inquiring Minds @ $2.50
Inquiring Minds was too quick for them at Warwick Farm, and he could remain unbeaten on the track.
The four-year-old son of Kingman paid $1.95 when winning, and punters get better odds for the favourite on Wednesday.
He’s running well, so there’s no reason to jump off his back.
