Pakenham racing tips

Race 1. (12:30) Sheen Panel Service Pakenham Maiden (1000m)

#7 – The Showvinist @ $2.70

The Showviniest ran third on debut at Ballarat, and having experience on the track should take it close.

The two-year-old colt by I Am Invincible was only 2.6 lengths behind the winner as a $2.45 chance, so punters get better odds this time around.

His odds are shortening, so take the value available.

Race 3. (13:30) Dalton Consulting Engineers Maiden (1400m)

#6 – First Blessing @ $2.25

First Blessing has been right around the mark in two career starts, with the most recent coming at Pakenham.

The three-year-old filly finished fourth, and despite looming to win before getting tired, she might have needed the run.

Getting an inside draw adds to her appeal.

Race 5. (14:30) Bridgestone Select Pakenham BM58 (1600m)

#2 – Super Solar @ $4.00

Super Solar has been right around the mark without winning this preparation, and it’s only a matter of time.

The six-year-old gelding by Makfi owns five second placings from nine attempts at Pakenham, but he’s a four-time winner over the distance.

Getting weight off his back adds to his appeal.

Race 7. (15:30) RW Advisory Group BM58 (2200m)

#7 – Gift of Oratory @ $4.80

Gift of Oratory is getting close to an overdue win after finishing second at Mornington last time out.

The four-year-old son of Churchill has since scored a trial win at Pakenham, so that experience should see him run close.

Barrier 15 isn’t a problem over this distance.

Wyong racing tips

Race 1. (12:10) Tabcorp C1 (1600m)

#2 – California Sunrise @ $2.50

California Sunrise won well at Hawkesbury two back before battling well for second at Newcastle.

The three-year-old filly by Pierro was no match for the winner at Newcastle, but she was giving away 3.5kg to the winner.

This race looks more suitable for the favourite.

Race 2. (12:45) Ben Greer Appreciation Maiden (1350m)

#2 – Magic Shadow @ $3.10

Magic Shadow ran well for second at Newcastle last time out, and that’s a tidy form guide for this race.

The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding finished two lengths behind the winner, so natural improvement should take him close.

His odds have shortened, and he could start around $2.50.

Race 4. (13:55) Vale Ron Bundy Provincial Maiden (1200m)

#4 – Stratified @ $4.20

Stratified has disappointed in four starts, but we’re using his third placing at Beaumont as a betting guide.

The three-year-old son of Stratosphere didn’t follow it up with much at Wyong and Newcastle, but he’s better than that.

Braith Nock takes 3kg off his back, and that could make the difference.

Race 5. (14:35) De Bortoli Wines Maiden (1000m)

#7 – Du Cap @ $4.20

Du Cap should have won a race by now, and we’re happy to stick with her until she does.

The three-year-old filly by Snitzel owns two second placings at Wyong, so this is her favourite track, and it’s not a tough field.

Take the each-way odds available for the joint favourite.
