7NEWS also understands some customers have arrived at the airport to discover their bookings did not exist and the flights had not been paid for.

It’s alleged more than 50 customers nationwide have spent nearly $250,000 spent on fake flight bookings.

Syon Travels customer Niranjana Chaudhary is among those who fear they have been allegedly scammed.

She told 7NEWS she had booked trip for a family reunion in Nepal with the company, but now her plans were in disarray.

“I’ve worked double shift night shifts just to go and spend some quality time with my family, so they’re just playing with our emotions,” she said.

However, the business’s owner Nani Ram Aryal said in an announcement on social media “despite the company’s status, we will reimburse all customer payments in due course”.

“I as the manager of Syon Travels take sole responsibility for the situation that has happened in the business,” he said.

“As a manager of the business, I confirm that there was no involvement of any other parties for this situation to occur.”

Aryal described the situation as “nightmarish”.

“Thank you for understanding and please be assured we are trying our best to solve the problem ASAP,” he said.

However, angry customers say they aren’t holding their breath.

Some customers have reported the matter to police after fearing they have been scammed.

The website, which claims to be one of Australia’s leading travel agents, has never been accredited.

7NEWS understands Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has not yet received any notice of the company being under administration.

Aryal has urged any customers who have an issue to email him at syongroups@gmail.com.
