Free agent forward Caleb Martin has agreed on a four-year deal guaranteed for more than $32 million with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told ESPN on Saturday.

The 76ers landed an impactful commitment in Martin, a playoff-tested power forward and versatile defender who joins Philadelphia after three seasons with the Miami Heat.

Martin is expected to become the Sixers’ starting power forward, sliding into a frontcourt that now includes All-NBA forward Paul George and MVP center Joel Embiid. He joins a free agent class that includes George, Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond.

The Sixers are waiving forward/center Paul Reed, who has a nonguaranteed contract for next season, sources said.

Martin, 28, has had particular success against the NBA champion Boston Celtics, averaging 13.6 points on 50% shooting in regular-season and playoff games over the past two years, according to ESPN Stats & Information. It’s the most points per game that Martin has had against an Eastern Conference opponent.

He has four career 25-point games — and two came against the Celtics in the 2023 Eastern Conference finals.

Martin averaged career highs with 10.0 points and 2.2 assists along with 4.4 rebounds per game last season.
