A pair of NBA players got into an ugly altercation during international play on Saturday.

In the midst of France’s 90-66 win in a friendly against Germany, Evan Fournier of France and Dennis Schroder of Germany needed to be separated.

During a play in the second quarter, Schroder drove to the basket and took a hard foul from Fournier.

Schroder approached his rival and put his hands on his shoulder area.

In response, Fournier put both his hands around Schroder’s throat – choking him before teammates and referees separated them.

Meanwhile, Schroder is about to enter his second season with the Brooklyn Nets.

He was acquired by Brooklyn alongside Thaddeus Young in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie.
