PFF: Bills have 8th-best offensive line heading into 2024 NFL season

Must read

The Buffalo Bills are in the middle of a transition period within their franchise as they have moved from some of the veterans that recently contributed to their winning ways. Those changes for Buffalo can be seen throughout the roster and while fans will have to get used to some new faces, it seems like the Bills should have little to worry about with its offensive line.

Pro Football Focus recently produced rankings for each team’s offensive line core and the Bills came out with the eighth-best offensive line group in the entire NFL heading into the 2024 NFL season. Some of the teams ahead of Buffalo in these rankings are AFC rivals in the Kansas City Chiefs (seventh), the New York Jets (fifth), and the Cleveland Browns (fourth).

The Bills were one of the rare teams in the league that had everyone of their starters healthy for all 17 games and had one player make the Pro Bowl last season in left tackle Dion Dawkins. Four of the five starters will be returning for this season as center Mitch Morse was cut by Buffalo and later signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in free-agency.

With that being said, here is the projected starting offensive line unit along with what PFF had to say about the unit ranking as the eighth-best in the NFL:

What PFF Had To Say About The Bills’ Offensive Line

Timothy T Ludwig/Getty Images

“Right tackle Spencer Brown went from being the 73rd-ranked offensive tackle in PFF overall grade to the 32nd-best mark in 2023, taking this offensive line to a new level. We have yet to see how well the interior can hold up after center Mitch Morse‘s departure, though. The Bills will move Connor McGovern from guard to center and introduce David Edwards, who played mostly as a sixth offensive lineman in 2023, into the starting lineup.”
