WWE Money In The Bank 2024 Winners And Grades

Drew McIntyre Wins WWE Men’s Money In The Bank

Samantha Irvin (American) and Ryland James (Canadian) each sang their country’s national anthem to start the show.

Jey Uso received another superstar entrance as the camera panned through fans backstage before Jey Uso walked out. The fireflies were out in full force, too.

This had the makings of being one of the wildest Money in the Bank matches ever given all the wrestlers involved in bitter feuds. This match could set the record for most outside interference in a single Money in the Bank match.

Michael Cole noted that Jey Uso’s uncle, and Roman Reigns’ father, was buried today. Jey wanted to be there, but Sika would have wanted him to compete in Money in the Bank.

After a wild, emotional reaction to Jey Uso’s superstar entrance, there was little-to-no reaction for Andrade’s entrance. These things take time.

LA Knight thumbed jhis nose at superstition and walked under the ladder on his way to the ring.

The Boys sponsoring this match, in addition to Cody Rhodes portraying Homelander, is one of the most meta moments you will ever see on WWE TV.

Chad Gable trapped McIntyre in an impressive Figure Four arm lock atop the ladder, and it was broken up by an Andrade springboard legdrop. Carmelo topped this moment with a springboard clothesline on Andrade. Andrade got his get-back with an inverted Spanish Fly on Melo. The spot received “holy s—t” chants.

Fans chanted “CM Punk” to irk Drew McIntyre every chance they could.

Chad Gable ran wild on the field, and despite the fact he’s a heel, fans cheered the moment. Fans then came to their senses and chanted “you still suck!”

Chad Gable once again impressed with an ankle lock on Hayes while in between two ladders.

Now it was Hayes’ turn to run wild as he tipped over a ladder with McIntyre and Knight, dove onto Chad Gable and hit Noting But Net on Jey Uso. Andrade then blocked Hayes’ attempt to climb the ladder and stuck one ladder perpendicular to the other. In a desperation move, Andrade hit a Canadian Destroyer through the ladder on Hayes as Knight tried to stop him from grabbing the briefcase.

Just as it was about to be Yeet in the Bank, Drew McIntyre yeeted a ladder at Jey and grabbed the briefcase. Prepare for CM Punk.

Sami Zayn Def. Bron Breakker

Sami Zayn, as the hometown hero, was the clear favorite in this match. Still, it was hard to know if fans were booing Breakker or barking at him in support.

Bron Breakker hit a 23 mph clothesline, and Corey Graves corrected Michael Cole by calling it a “Steinerline.”

The story of this match was Bron Breakker overpowering Zayn, but Zayn received many hope spots throughout.

The Frankensteiner remains impressive, and fans popped huge for it once again when Breakker hit the move on Zayn. They even chanted “this is awesome!”

Breakker went for his 360 spear, but Zayn once again leaped over Breakker. Wise beyond his years, Breakker stopped short of the stairs and hit a flying clothesline on Zayn, who landed on the table.

Shockingly, and disappointingly, Sami Zayn won this match with a Helluva Kick. You can argue that Zayn’s last two championship wins against Chad Gable and Breakker were unwarranted.

John Cena Retires From WWE

Trish Stratus brought out John Cena, and the reaction peaked at around 111 decibels.

John Cena officially announced his retirement from WWE. Fans chanted “no!”

John Cena tearfully said whether WWE is hot or cold, Canadians always show up. And that’s why he chose to retire in Canada.

Cena vowed to be at WWE Raw on Netflix. He also said the 2025 Royal Rumble and the 2025 Elimination Chamber would be his last. He also announced WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas will be the last WrestleMania he’ll compete in.

Cena said he’ll be fielding any and all questions about his retirement at the WWE Press Conference. He kissed his wife before leaving the ring. There were no major angles following his retirement speech, so it seems to be a legitimate retirement for now.

Damian Priest Def. Drew McIntyre And Seth Rollins (McIntyre Cashes In Money In The Bank)

Prior to this match, Damian Priest demanded that Judgment Day do not interfere in his match. Finn Balor agreed before sarcastically calling Priest “boss.” Balor is going to turn on Priest any day now.

Michael Cole noted Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Kane, Dean Ambrose and Bayley all cashed in their Money in the Bank contract the same night they won it. This was not a coincidence as McIntyre has vowed to cash in his Money in the Bank contract tonight.

The referee stopped short of the three count despite the fact Damian Priest’s shoulders were on the ground. This was because WWE missed the musical cue for Drew McIntyre, whose music hit as he attempted to cash in.

Of course, CM Punk crashed Drew McIntyre’s cash-in, leading to Damian Priest beating McIntyre. This infuriated McIntyre, but also Seth Rollins who technically lost a world title match because of CM Punk. Cinema.

Women’s WWE Money In The Bank Match

Chelsea Green received a huge reaction in her home country of Canada. Of course, Green came out in Trish Stratus wear with a cowboy hat. Had it not been for Chelsea, Tiffany Stratton would have received the biggest reaction.

Naomi, dressed in Green Bay Packer colors, hit an impressive split-legged leg drop on Zoey Stark while she was on the ladder.

Amid a sea of “Tiffy Time” chants, Tiffany Stratton hit a slow-moving dive on the field after walking up the ladder.

Fans exploded when it seemed Stratton was going to climb the ladder to the briefcase. Stratton was promptly pulled out of the ring.

At one point, Green hilariously tried to dive for the briefcase in the center of the ring despite the fact there was no ladder.

The spot of the match was Iyo Sky hitting a sickening (read: awesome) modified piledriver on a ladder. This opened the door for Stratton to shove Green off the ladder through two tables and win the women’s Money in the Bank briefcase. An insane, incredible match.

The Bloodline Def. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens And Randy Orton

This match started with chants of “F U Solo…”

Jacob Fatu no-sold the iconic Randy Orton draping DDT to officially start his WWE main roster career.

Corey Graves: “I’m pretty sure a criminal record was a job requirement in ECW, and still, Paul Heyman was terrified of these Tongans.”

As Owens continued to get pummeled by The Bloodline, fans chanted “we want Roman” and “Fight, Owens, Fight!”

There was a ref bump just as Solo Sikoa was dead-to-rights. Solo took multiple finishers from the babyfaces, but there was no referee to count. An ensuing Owens Frog Splash on Fatu led to a “this is awesome” chant.

The Bloodline sealed the match with outside interference, followed by a Thumb strike to Rhodes after a freakish Fatu recovered from a table spot.
