Hawk Tuah girl sets the record straight on rumours since ‘spit on that thang’ video

Haliey Welch – better known as the ‘Hawk Tuah girl’ – has finally set the record straight on the internet’s biggest misconceptions about her life.

Welch, 21, saw her life change overnight after taking part in a street interview with YouTuber duo Tim and Dee TV last month – in which she was asked the question: “What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?”

“You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang,” she replied, and the rest is now history.

However the impact of viral fame can be overwhelming and, as the internet scrambled to learn everything they could about the identity of its latest meme, Welch found herself facing some rather strange accusations.

“She’s a schoolteacher,” pearl-clutching internet users declared, while others claimed that Welch would be pursuing a career on OnlyFans after being ‘fired’ from her job.

Thankfully, the internet can now rest easily as Welch herself has set the record straight once and for all in an update on her social media.

Sitting down for a Q&A on her Instagram, Welch wasted no time in addressing some of the biggest rumours about her life.

Responding to the schoolteacher comments, the Tennessee native revealed that she has never worked in education sector, instead having a job in a ‘spring plant’ (we don’t know what that is either) before quitting to go travelling.

Moving onto the rumours of her being fired, Welch continued: “Did I really get fired from my job?” she began.

“That is false. I quit my job to go travel.”

Welch also revealed that she would not be capitalising off of the sexual nature of her viral catchphrase by making an OnlyFans account, adding that she was ‘not comfortable doing that, ever’.

She also revealed that she did, indeed, turn down an offer from Playboy to make content for them.

Welch was quick to receive praise from fans about her responses to the questions, with one follower writing: “Every single thing about her is green flag.”

“I like her sense of humour and her personality ngl,” a second person wrote, while a third added: “We finally made the right person famous.”

While Welch has remained firm in turning down big moneymakers such as OF and Playboy, she’s still in line to make a lot of money.

Following the clip going viral, Welch produced a series of caps sporting the phrase ‘Hawk Tuah ’24’ which appear to have been a home run for the newfound influencer, which are reportedly flying off of the shelves.

She also appeared on a podcast, revealing what she really meant by the now legendary ‘spit on that thang’ comment.
