Julie Goodwin has been forced to withdraw from the opening episode of Dancing With The Stars.

The cooking star, who shot to fame in the first season of MasterChef, was due to make her dance floor debut in the show, but sustained a serious leg injury and has pulled out of the episode, under doctor’s orders.

“I was jumping on poor Andrey here,” she told Sonia on the show. “Something snapped and fortunately, it was my leg and not his back. It was my calf muscle.”

The 53-year-old mum was taken to hospital, where she was immediately treated.

Doctors have now told Goodwin she needs to rest her leg in the hope she can return to the show in the third episode, and she remains optimistic.

“It’s going to be all right. We’re going to be all right. Bedazzle the moon boot and away we’ll go.”

The new season of the show boasts an exciting line-up of stars, including Ben Cousins and Lisa McCune.

Sonia Kruger is joined in hosting duties for the first time by Dr Chris Brown.
