The men’s singles draw at Wimbledon has thrown up some sensational matches in the opening week of Wimbledon and now we are about to get into the business end of the tournament.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz came back from a set down to beat Frances Tiafoe in a compelling second round match, while Jannik Sinner has moved through impressively despite a tough draw.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic has shown limited signs of concern despite heading into Wimbledon with big doubts over his fitness.

ALCARAZ THE CHAMPION
Carlos Alcaraz shocked the tennis world when he beat Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final last July and he could be on course to repeat that feat.
Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are the only men in the open era to win the French Open and Wimbledon the same year.
Now Alcaraz is looking to join that illustrious list and from the evidence of the first week, he is in the kind of form to make it happen.
Verdict: Alcaraz is the player to beat.

WHAT ABOUT JANNIK SINNER?
The world No 1 and top seed at Wimbledon had a horrible draw after he was thrown in against his compatriot and grass court specialist Matteo Berrettini in round two.
The impressive Grigor Dimitrov is in Sinner’s half of the draw and he will have to get past his familiar foe Carlos Alcaraz if both get to the semi-finals.
Sinner has looked good at Wimbledon so far and the tests he has had will sharpen his game, but Alcaraz will fancy his chances against him on grass.
Verdict: Semi-finals and out for Sinner.
LABOURED NOVAK
Novak Djokovic has not looked at his best so far at Wimbledon, which is to be expected.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion underwent knee surgery on June 5 and was never going to be fully fit for this latest assault on the Wimbledon title.
Yet sitting in the press box on Centre Court has allowed us to observe Djokovic’s laboured movement and it is clear he is not at the peak of his powers.
Considering where his knee was when he pulled out of the French Open, his recovery has been impressive, but he doesn’t look to be in shape to beat Alcaraz and Sinner.
Verdict: Djokovic has not looked convincing so far and may suffer a shock defeat before the final.
THE OUTSIDERS
Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz have looked impressive so far.
Zverev’s win over Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the third round confirmed he is in prime form, with his big serves and powerhouse ground shots too much for his rival.
Norrie was in scintillating form as he beat compatriot Jack Draper in round two, so Zverev’s win was a statement victory.
Meanwhile, big-serving American Fritz has plotted a route to the last -16 with limited fanfare and after winning in the grass at Eastbourne last month, he is in prime form.
Verdict: The winner of the Zverev vs Fritz fourth round match could be in line to reach they first Wimbledon final.
