Injury news: Group of Dons continue to progress

Darcy Parish is hopeful of a return in two weeks’ time as he continues his return from a niggling calf injury.

The midfielder will continue to build his running loads and has commenced intro skill work, ahead of a more performance-focused football block.  

Mid-season draftee Saad El-Hawli is eyeing off a return to play in around four weeks, currently rebuilding his calf and foot strength as he recovers from a syndesmosis injury.

Defender Kaine Baldwin is about five weeks away from competitive action following a recurrence of his navicular stress fracture a few weeks ago. He has commenced reloading of the joint, and will commence gradual reintroduction to running over the next couple of weeks.

Baldwin suffered a stress injury in his foot during pre-season training, before suffering a minor setback in training for round 15.

El-Hawli injured his ankle during the fourth quarter of his best-on-ground effort in Essendon’s VFL’s three-point round 11 win over Carlton after getting his ankle trapped underneath him in a contest.

Hunter suffered the long-term knee injury in pre-season training.
