Happy Valley horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (20:35) Silver Grecian Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Happy Tango
Happy Tango is an experienced type with 60 starts, and because there isn’t much depth to this field, he could take advantage.
The eight-year-old son of Eavesdropper gets an inside draw and 3kg off his back, which adds to his appeal.
We expect each-way odds on race night.
Race 2. (21:05) Super Oasis Handicap (1800m)
#7 – Go Go Go
The four-year-old son of Charm Spirit looks to cap off four consecutive placings with a win, and we’re backing him to do it.
He has yet to win from 17 starts, but from six attempts at Happy Valley he owns three second placings.
Having Zac Purton in the saddle helps his cause.
Race 3. (21:35) Turin Redsun Handicap (1650m)
#6 – Atomic Beauty
Atomic Beauty has been right around the mark this season, including a good win at Happy Valley in May.
The five-year-old son of Wootton Bassett added a placing three back, and he doesn’t know how to run a bad race.
Barrier four gives him every chance to win.
Race 4. (22:05) Let Me Fight Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Amazing Ace
Amazing Ace is a former Australian who has yet to win in Hong Kong from eight attempts, but we’re sticking with him.
The four-year-old son of I Am Invincible wasn’t too far away fresh up with Purton riding, and he returns to the saddle.
It’s his last chance to impress.
Race 5. (22:35) Fast Most Furious Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Camino
Camino looked good winning at Happy Valley to start this preparation before placing last time out behind Travel Golf.
He was only a length behind the winner, and the son of Charm Spirit shouldn’t take long to win another race.
His form has improved this season, so he’s worth sticking with.
Race 6. (23:05) Sun Jewellery Handicap (1650m)
#3 – Outgate
Outgate is a professional seven-time winner from 25 starts, including a good win at Happy Valley last time out.
The five-year-old son of Outstrip owns two wins and two placings from seven starts at Happy Valley, which is ideal form.
Getting weight off his back adds to his appeal.
Race 7. (23:35) Star Shine Handicap (1200m)
#9 – Happy Horse
Looking to improve on a fresh up third placing is Happy Horse, who could go under the radar on Wednesday night.
The Manfred Mann-trained gelding won at Happy Valley two back by a length, which is a tidy form guide.
Getting in with 53.5kg makes him tough to beat.
Race 8. (00:15) Lucky Patch Handicap (1000m)
#8 – Ka Ying Cheer
Ka Ying Cheer doesn’t know how to run a bad race, including a win and six placings from nine starts.
The four-year-old has yet to finish worse than third at Happy Valley, so he loves racing at the track.
55kg is ideal, so punters should expect short odds.
Race 9. (00:50) Sweet Orange Handicap (1800m)
#1 – Awesome Fluke
Awesome Fluke comes off consecutive wins at Sha Tin, and that form bodes well for racing at Happy Valley.
The four-year-old son of Awesome Rock won by 1.2 lengths last time out, and getting barrier three is ideal.
Look for each-way odds on race night.
