Race 1. (12:25) Fast Form Maiden (1200m)
#11 – Vendemmia @ $4.20
Vendemmia ran sixth at Sandown on debut before improving to finish third at Cranbourne last time out.
The three-year-old gelding by Per Incanto is bred to handle racing in winter, and he has plenty of upside this preparation.
Punters should latch onto the each-way odds.
Race 2. (13:00) Become an MRC Member BM64 (1200m)
#1 – Lovazou @ $6.50
Lovazou gets in with a big weight of 62kg, but the three-year-old filly comes off a win at Ballarat.
The daughter of Zoustar owns two wins and a placing from six starts, and this race is there for the taking.
She handles all conditions, so we expect her to be fighting out the finish at generous odds.
Race 3. (13:35) Senet Gambling Law Experts BM64 (1400m)
#1 – Freak of Nature @ $7.00
Freak of Nature couldn’t have been more impressive when winning at Pakenham last time out, so we’re happy to back him again.
The three-year-old son of Snitzel won by 4.5 lengths, and although rising in class, he’s good enough to handle it.
Take the odds before they shorten on race day.
Race 4. (14:10) Set a Deposit Limit BM78 (2400m)
#7 – Martial Eagle @ $2.80
Martial Eagle is struggling to get back to winning form, but this is the race for it.
The six-year-old son of Aderflug owns three wins and nine placings from 23 starts overall, and it’s good to see money come for him.
With 55kg on his back, he’s worth including in selections.
Race 5. (14:45) Ive BM78 (2100m)
#11 – Preferential @ $4.20
Preferential owns two wins from her last three starts, including an impressive win at Geelong last time out.
The daughter of Preferment won by 3.8 lengths over 2418m, and although dropping in distance isn’t ideal, the conditions will make this a true staying test.
Carrying a light weight makes it tough to beat at this level.
Race 6. (15:20) Evergreen Turf BM70 (1200m)
#7 – Kiko @ $3.30
Kiko has been right around the mark this season, including a win at Sandown three starts back.
He followed it up with consecutive second placings at Sandown, so he loves the track, and running for a new stable won’t worry him.
It’s a tricky field, which means punters get better odds.
Race 7. (15:55) Thoroughbred Club of Australia BM78 (1200m)
#8 – Bews @ $6.00
Value is with Bews, who has been threatening to win a race this preparation.
The four-year-old son of I Am Invincible owns a win and a placing from two starts at Sandown, so the form checks out.
Getting back to an easier race could see his form improve, and the odds appeal.
Race 8. (16:30) Race Replays BM70 (1600m)
#10 – Name Dropper @ $4.20
Name Dropper is unbeaten after two career starts at Eagle Farm and Sandown, so the form is ideal for this race.
The four-year-old gelding by Tavistock paid $7.00 when winning last time out, so we’re not surprised by the shorter odds this time around.
We’re taking the each-way odds before money comes for the unbeaten runner.
