A man has been charged with murder and will face court on Tuesday after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death in an alleged fatal domestic violence attack in western Sydney.
Emergency crews were called to a home in Kingswood on the Great Western Highway following reports of a stabbing about 1.40pm on Monday.
The alleged murderer has been identified as Jeremaia Tuwai, after his girlfriend Nunia Kurualeba, 21, was found with significant injuries, including two stab wounds to her chest.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 7.10pm, following extensive inquiries, Tuwai was arrested on Derby Street, Penrith.
In a police statement, the arrest was made “without incident”.
Tuwai was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with murder (DV).
The 21-year-old was refused bail and will appear before Penrith Local Court.
