2024 MAJOR LEAGUE CRICKET Coming to Prime Video in Australia

Prime Video will stream all 25 matches of the 2024 US Major League Cricket season in Australia and New Zealand at no extra cost to members.

Prime Video has announced its exclusive broadcasting rights for the 2024 Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC) season in Australia and New Zealand. The season, running from 6 July to 29 July local time (5 July to 28 July in the USA), will feature all 25 matches available at no additional cost to Prime or Prime Video members.

This announcement follows the success of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where the USA, co-hosts of the event, advanced to the Super Eight stage in their debut.

The second MLC season will showcase top international T20 players and leading domestic talent from six major US cities: Dallas, San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. The tournament will include eight Australian and five New Zealand players among its ranks. Notable signings include:

  • Pat Cummins, the Australian Test and ODI captain, joins the San Francisco Unicorns, along with Josh Inglis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and New Zealand’s Matt Henry.
  • The Seattle Orcas have signed Kiwi batsman Michael Bracewell and bowler Lance Morris.
  • Washington Freedom will be coached by Ricky Ponting and feature Australian batters Steve Smith, Travis Head, and Glenn Maxwell, alongside New Zealand bowlers Rachin Ravindra and Lockie Ferguson.
  • MI New York will see the return of batter Tim David and bowler Trent Boult for a second season.
  • Australian bowler Adam Zampa will join the Los Angeles Knight Riders.

Prime Video is well-regarded for its extensive sports coverage and original content in Australia and New Zealand. Notable series include The Test S1-S3, Making Their Mark, Shane, Warriors on the Field, and Kick Like Tayla. Australian Prime members recently supported the national team during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where Australia reached the Super Eight stage. The upcoming T20 World Cup Women’s tournament is scheduled to begin in October.

Since 2019, Prime Video has commissioned 29 Amazon Originals in Australia, including The Test, LOL: Last One Laughing Australia with Rebel Wilson, and several others like Back to the Rafters, Luxe Listings Sydney, The Moth Effect, and Burning. Additional content includes Head Above Water, Class of ’07, Deadloch, and the forthcoming The Office and The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

Prime members in Australia and Prime Video customers in New Zealand can watch all live MLC matches on various devices, including smart TVs, mobile devices, Fire TV, Fire TV stick, Fire tablets, and Apple TV. Matches can also be downloaded on mobile devices and tablets for offline viewing at no extra cost.
