Murray Bridge racing tips

Race 1. (11:38) Fred Vella Tyre & Crash Repairs Maiden (1400m)

#4 – Commissions @ $4.00

Commissions is on debut as a $160,000 purchase and he looked good at the jumpouts.

The son of Xtravagant won all three jumpouts before winning a trial at Stawell, so that form bodes well for Saturday.

We expect a nice effort, so watch late betting moves.

Race 2. (12:12) Steward Steel Supplies BM66 (1000m)

#3 – Mesrour @ $3.40

Mesrour is knocking on the door after three consecutive placings to start his career.

The two-year-old gelding has shown good barrier speed in all three runs, and that should take him close on Saturday.

Barrier two is another positive, so include him in picks.

Race 3. (12:47) Golden Grove Tavern BM78 (2500m)

#4 – Red Patrol @ $5.50

Red Patrol is already a two-time winner this preparation and we’re backing him to win another.

The six-year-old son of Ocean Park is a four-time winner from 13 starts, and rising in distance should be right up his alley.

It’s an even betting field, but he’s an excellent each-way bet.

Race 4. (13:22) Beyond Ink 0MW (1000m)

#3 – Clock Strikes @ $5.50

Clock Strikes is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring at Pakenham.

The four-year-old won those races on synthetic tracks, but he has handled all conditions throughout his career.

Only the wide barrier is against him, but he’s good enough to overcome it.

Race 5. (13:57) Spry Civil Constuction BM66 (2000m)

#7 – Chosen Miss @ $8.00

Chosen Miss isn’t always the most consistent runner going around, but she comes off a win at Morphettville.

Wet conditions brought out the best in the five-year-old mare, who usually pays generous odds with bookmakers.

Getting 2kg off her back adds to her each-way appeal.

Race 6. (14:32) Terminix Murray Bridge BM76 (1600m)

#1 – Riverplate @ $4.50

Riverplate was too good for them on this track last start, so he’s worth including in selections again.

The five-year-old gelding by Flying Artie gets punished in the weights with 61kg, but he’s good enough to carry it to victory.

He’s the class runner of the field, so put him on top.

Race 7. (15:12) Carlton Draught BM68 (1400m)

#1 – Brave Star @ $3.70

Brave Star won well two back at Morphettville, which is a tidy form guide for this of racing.

The six-year-old son of The Bold One is bred to handle any conditions, and getting 2kg off his back helps.

It could pay to look for a betting move on race day, but he should be well supported.

Race 8. (15:52) Emmetts Murray Bridge BM68 (1400m)

#3 – Maracourt @ $2.50

Maracourt comes off three consecutive second placings, and although backed and beaten, he’s worth sticking with.

The five-year-old son of Hampton Court has yet to race on the track, but Murray Bridge is a course that should suit his running style.

We’re prepared to give him another chance at the odds.

Race 9. (16:27) Thomas Farms BM66 (1100m)

#11 – Hajra @ $4.20

Hajra looked good winning her first two starts this preparation before running third at Murray Bridge.

Having experience on the track, and she’s a past winner here, so there isn’t much going against the daughter of Zoustar.

Most of the early money has come her way, which is a good sign.

Race 10. (17:05) McKechnie Concreting BM74 (1100m)

#9 – The Hass @ $6.00

The Hass was too smart for them at Morphettville when turning his form around.

The five-year-old son of Ajaya has yet to race at Murray Bridge, but he is an adaptable type that can never be ruled out.

It’s an even field and jockey Caitlin Jones has been riding well.
