HoYoverse’s latest free-to-play joint, Zenless Zone Zero, finally launched last week and has proved to be a lot of fun for players looking for a super-stylish, surprisingly chill action RPG with great characters and plenty to do and discover.
Of course, being a free-to-play game from the folks behind Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, a big component of ZZZ is the “gacha” style system for unlocking new playable characters (or Agents), and to kick players off the studio has devised a number of launch initiatives stacked with rewards that total out at a heavily-advertised “180 free pulls.”
If you’ve seen the countless ads on social media, especially YouTube and TikTok, and downloaded the game for yourself you might be wondering just how to get thes “free pulls” that are being pushed left, right and centre. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as just booting up the game and getting to pull the lever 180 times in attempts to snag some of the best Zenless Zone Zero Agents – instead, you’ll have to do some work and actually play through a chunk of the game. Essentially, the “free” pulls are more “regular rewards for playing the game.”
With that in mind, here’s a quick breakdown on how those 180 pulls are broken up and doled out in the game:
Zenless Zone Zero – How To Get 100 Free Agent Pulls
100 of Zenless Zone Zero’s “free pulls” are for the Exclusive and Stable Signal Search features to unlock new playable Agents (and W-Engines). Here’s how they’re allocated:
1600x Polychrome
Play through the game until you reach Inter-Knot Level 30, then claim Polychromes x1600 from the in-game Road to Proxy Greatness event.
70x Master Tapes
- 20x Master Tapes: Play through the game to unlock the Mail feature and then claim them from the pre-registration rewards.
- 10x Master Tapes: Play through the game to unlock the Event feature and claim them from Cunning Generosity.
- 40x Master Tapes: Play through the game until you reach Inter-Knot Level 25 and claim them from the Road to Proxy Greatness event.
20x Encrypted Master Tapes
- 10x Encrypted Master Tapes: Participate in the launch login promotion for 7 days and claim them from the New City Visitor’s Passport event.
- 10x Encrypted Master Tapes: Participate in the July 11th login promotion for 7 days and claim them from the Sixth Street Giveaway event.

100 of Zenless Zone Zero’s “free pulls” are for the Bangboo Signal Search feature to unlock new Bangboos (and W-Engines). Here’s how they’re allocated:
- 5x Boopon: Play through the game to unlock the Mail feature and then claim them from the pre-registration rewards.
- 65x Boopon: Play through the game until you reach Inter-Knot Level 30 and claim them from the Road to Proxy Greatness event.
- 10x Boopon: Participate in the July 24th login promotion for 7 days and claim them from the “Eh-Nah” Into Your Lap event.

Zenless Zone Zero – How To Redeem Codes For Free Polychrome, Dennies, Items
You can claim redemption codes for Zenless Zone Zero either through the game itself or the official code redemption web page.
Before you can redeem any codes in-game, you’ll have to have completed the tutorial and reached Inter-Knot Level 5.
Redeeming in-game:
- Open the in-game menu (Options button on PS5)
- On the main menu bar, select the More option
- Select Redemption Code (ticket icon)
- Enter the code you want to redeem
- Go back to the More menu and select Mail to claim your rewards
Redeeming via the web:
- Go to the official code redemption page in a browser
- Log in to your HoYoverse account
- Select the server you’re playing the game on
- Enter the code you want to redeem and confirm
- Follow the above instructions to access your Mail box in-game and claim your rewards
