A range of prize property listings with everything from ballrooms to entertainment areas for 500 people are giving a rare glimpse into how Australia’s rich now live. Here are some of the standout homes that have hit the market, with many expected to smash price records.
RECORD SETTER
Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond’s ultra-luxe Point Piper home Wingadal is up for sale and industry sources have revealed “multiple offers above $200m” have already been received.

The 2676sq m waterfront residence hit the market in May with hopes of more than $200m, yet an industry source advised Symond’s “dream price” was $240m. “And he’ll probably get it,” the source said.

The mansion has dream views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, entertainment areas for 500 people, undercover parking for 20 cars and a theatre with seats for 22 people, among other features.
BALLROOM BLITZ
This 17.92ha Gold Coast estate called Bellagio La Villa came up for sale earlier this year.
Owned by Riyu Li, who spared no expense on upgrades for the 10-bedroom mansion, it has a ballroom with a bar and caterers’ kitchen and marble in each of the 11 bathrooms.

Price hopes for Bellagio La Villa are reported to be over $40m.
There is also an indoor swimming pool, a spa, gym, sauna, horse stables, and a fruit orchard. It was previously listed last year with hopes reported to be about $42m.
