I hope this is just me being paranoid but this game doesn’t make me feel too good about the olympics.

Yeah, look, there was light and shade to this game.
We saw what Australia looked like while under pressure from a very well-drilled, physical, and confident side. Last-minute changes to the team due to niggles certainly threw a spanner in things, but I think they did okay in the circumstances.
They lacked energy and sharpness, yes, but that was the plan from the start: have the players already feeling the physical toll of a heavy load and get them to perform. They don’t want to be peaking in a friendly against Canada, they want to be peaking at the Olympics.
Sharn Frier got her first goal for Australia, finishing off one of the team’s few counter-attacking chances, but there are certainly some questions around what their attack looks like without Caitlin Foord and Hayley Raso carrying the team forward down either flank.
