Pittsburgh will send back a sixth-round pick that can become a fourth-rounder based on playing time, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
This week, the Steelers added Russell Wilson in free agency on a one-year deal and traded Kenny Pickett to the Eagles.
Now, they have another quarterback in Fields to give Wilson more competition.
The Bears, who hold the No.1 overall pick in this year’s draft, are expected to select USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

The trade brings an end to Fields’ tenure in Chicago, which began in 2021 when the Bears selected him with the 11th overall pick having traded up from 20th.
However, Fields never quite settled in the Windy City and even called out Chicago’s coaching staff during the 2023 season for constantly giving him too much information.
In the three seasons Fields spent at quarterback for the Bears, he amassed a record of ten wins and 28 losses while throwing for 200-plus yards just 13 times.
However, the Steelers are acquiring Fields after his best season having thrown for 2,562 yards at a completion percentage of 61.4 and an overall QB rating of 86.3.
