One week of NBA ball has made the truth clear and plain for Bronny James

Must read

We can all be adults and admit the simple, plain truth about Bronny James: He is a long-term project. He is not a quick fix. He is not a ready-to-play NBA player. Most people already knew this, but one week of NBA summer basketball has confirmed it. The former USC Trojan will be spending his time this coming basketball season in the G League, developing his game. He will need to develop his body, his strength, his stamina, but most of all, he will need to develop his jump shot.

LeBron Wire evaluated Bronny James after the Lakers’ NBA summer league game against the Houston Rockets on Friday night:

James is clearly a project player, and his performance on Friday was another reminder of how long he has to go before he becomes a finished product. He was more aggressive offensively than he was during the California Classic, but he missed all eight of his 3-point attempts and went 3-of-14 overall.

He finished with eight points, five rebounds, two steals and three turnovers in 27 minutes.

Spend a year in the G League. Develop a jumper. Let’s see where we are next April, Bronny James.
