A man has been charged with murder after a body was found in the stairwell of an apartment complex in Melbourne’s east.
Police were called to reports of an assault in the foyer of the Young St building in Box Hill at 7.45pm on Saturday.
After arriving, officers found two victims, including one who had suffered facial injuries.

Witnesses told police a third person had also been assaulted, and a during a search of the building, officers found the body of a 48-year-old man in a stairwell.
A 42-year-old Box Hill man was arrested at the complex and taken to hospital under police guard.
On Sunday night he was charged with murder and has been remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police believe the parties were known to each other.
