“Will be winning next start”: Campbell Brown’s horse to follow

Must read

Campbell Brown is very keen to follow Hydro Star out of Monday’s Pakenham meeting.

The John McArdle trained six-year-old has been honing in on the midweek meetings this preparation and arguably had his best run for the prep on Monday.

He rattled home for third over the 1000m trip and Brown believes with a more suitable draw next start he’ll be winning.

“I’m keen to follow Hydro Star from race number nine,” Brown told SENTrack.

“I just think the barrier beat it today and I left this out of my Quaddie today because of that but but jeez it hit the line really really well.

“It finished third and maybe it peaked on its run a little bit but it’s the sort of horse that I’m sure John will find a nice synthetic race during the week and if it draws a little bit better and it gets a softer run in transit where it can sit a little bit closer, look for it to be powering over the top of them.

‘It can stay at the 1000m trip and maybe the 1100mm trip but it was patiently ridden by Jamie Mott and I think that Hyrdo Star will be winning next start and hopefully we get a half decent price.”
