‘No One Is Taller Than Me’- Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Schooled by Daughter Over Abraham Lincoln

The banter in Serena Williams’ household keeps getting better! As Alexis Ohanian and Olympia roamed around their farm on a sunny day, an argument about the latter’s height soon ensued. When trying to think of someone who towered over her father, Olympia thought of a revolutionary, with the entrepreneur sticking to his claim in an adorable back and forth!  

The Reddit co-founder recently took to his Instagram handle to share a video where he stood in front of a sunflower that towered over him. To caption their conversation, he wrote, “Tbh I had no idea sunflowers could get this [tall] until we started growing em on the farm…”

Olympia started the conversation by stating, “There’s a man even taller than Abraham.” Ohanian, surprised, repeated, “Are you serious? Even taller than me?” Olympia insisted, “Yeah, I believe it. Even taller than Abraham.” The American entrepreneur, amused, inquired, “How tall was Abraham?”

Olympia then quipped, “Tall. He was taller than you.” Ohanian Sr. had a quick rebuttal saying, “Really? Nobody’s taller than me.” The six-year-old stood her ground to say, “Look it up. Who’s the tallest person in the world?”, to which the dad promised, “I’m gonna look it up as soon as we’re done.” For the unversed, the retired star now resides in a $6.7 million dollar, 14,500 sq.ft mansion in Florida, complete with a sprawling farm and some uncommon pets! 

According to dad Alexis, the family owns four chickens and one cow, with Olympia taking up naming duties: Bum Bum, Chickaletta, Minnie and Daisy, for the chickens, and (don’t hold your breath), Antonio Enrique Cortez Leche for the steer. “I let the kids do the naming,” Ohanian said in classic Ohanian fashion.

The duo share quite an adorable relationship. Just a few weeks ago, in an episode of his podcast, The Business Dad, Ohanian shared that his relationship with Olympia functions much like a manager-employee dynamic. He compared it to how a manager tackles his meetings with his six-year-old, seeking assessments on ongoing performance while talking about prior accomplishments and future goals.

Ohanian humorously noted, “I literally ask Olympia for a performance review. Sometimes she tells me, ‘You just squeeze me too hard. You’ve got to ease up on that’.” Hilariously, during a strict cooking session last year, Serena Williams’s husband, who had been Head Chef, was reduced to assistant and had to follow the whims of his daughter!

Sundays are always special for Serena Williams’ husband and daughter. From making ‘Papa Pancakes’ to leaving out cell phones just to spend time with the family, Alexis Ohanian always goes the extra mile to keep the romance alive. Last year, he shared his observations from one of their baking sessions on Twitter, saying, “Working the kitchen with Jr. is no joke.” The Reddit co-founder was seen pleading with his tiny chef, “Chef, I need a hand, chef,” but Olympia responded with a smile and a playful nod.

In another snippet, Olympia was also seen embodying the role of a boss and she demanded to know if the muffins were done. “Papa Chef, where is the cake?” she yelled adorably. In response, Ohanian, imitating a nervous assistant, retorted with a laugh, saying, “In the oven, chef, probably 10 more minutes, chef.” Their jovial conversation encapsulated the happiness of their time spent in the kitchen. And perhaps that’s the secret to the happy marriage between the tennis player and her entrepreneur husband. 

Talking about the family’s weekends, Ohanian once said, “There are no phones, just conversation. And we’ll spend the day together lounging around the house, or playing hide-and-seek, or going for a swim in the pool,” and added, “Just being a family on those days means so much to both of us.”

He also revealed how he inherited this trait from his father, saying, “Growing up, my dad would make pancakes every Sunday. They were delicious, but it wasn’t just about the food. It was about being together.”

However, with changing times and a wife who needs to stay fit at all times, Ohanian has also added a twist to the tradition! “So on Sunday mornings, I make breakfast for the family and it doesn’t cost me a thing, except for gluten-free flour (I had to modify Dad’s recipe a bit), some eggs, almond milk, a secret ingredient, and berries (Olympia loves raspberries),” he revealed.

That being said, the father-daughter duo has always served amusing videos to their fans. Their banter comes in a classic fashion, which would make many nostalgic. As Adira joins the fray, will she be just as snarky with her father?
