Southampton beat Leeds in the Championship play-off final to secure an immediate return to the Premier League after one season away.

The match is often called the richest game in world football, as the winning team is expected to make £140 million pounds in future earnings from Premier League TV rights and prize money.

The Saints join Leicester and Ipswich as the third promoted team, after their 1-0 victory at Wembley.

Southampton’s Adam Armstrong scored the decisive goal leaving Leeds to push for the equaliser.

Defeat for Leeds sees them face another season in the Championship and means they have lost their past three finals at Wembley.
