West Coast legend Ben Cousins has gone shirtless in a newly released photo.
Mix94.5’s Pete & Kymba challenged the former AFL star to replicate one of the many shirtless photos taken of him in the early 2000s when he was at the peak of his fame as a West Coast player.
The black-and-white photo shows the 45-year-old lying on a faux-fur rug in dark indigo jeans with a big smile.
Cousins’ ‘Such is Life’ tattoo is visible across his belly, and his arms are folded behind his head.
In footage of the radio segment shared to Instagram, the Brownlow medallist said he had no idea how he got “roped into this”.
“I don’t know how I got roped into this! It took days before I felt like I wasn’t slipping around in baby oil.
“At least I’m smiling. It’s not a bad shot.”
“You look happy, healthy and well – and a bit dreamy!” said Radio host Kymba Cahill.
“Ben! You are gorgeous! How do you look like that? No one should look like that!” said host Pete Curulli after Cousins took his shirt off in the office.
The radio duo then put a call out to Perth listeners for them to phone in and give their reactions to the photo live on air, attracting a wave of compliments for the “hunk-a-rama”.
“It’s very sexy and classy!” caller Cindy said.
Caller Sasha said: “This photo epitomises your return to greatness and fame – and everything that is fantastic about you!”
“What a hunk-a-rama! I’m nearly 60 and happily married… but there’s always time for a change!” caller Sue said.
Cousins has been following an intense training regime as he prepares to hit the stage later this year for the Seven Network show Dancing with the Stars.
