Celtics star’s late dagger sinks underdogs as Boston secure series sweep to book NBA finals spot

The Boston Celtics have progressed into the NBA finals after completing a series sweep over the Indiana Pacers thanks to a 105-102 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

An impressive turnaround in the fourth quarter ensured Boston won Game Four as they now await either the Dallas Mavericks or the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA finals.

But it was a three-point dagger from Celtics guard Derrick White in the final minute that helped seal victory and secure the title of Eastern Conference champions.

Already without their prime weapon in Tyrese Haliburton due to a hamstring injury, the Pacers were up against it before the contest had tipped off.

Indiana put up a valiant effort in Haliburton’s absence though as Andrew Nembhard finished with a double-double thanks to his 24 points and ten assists.

Yet the Pacers ran out of steam in the fourth quarter as the Celtics turned it up.

Ultimately Boston outscored Indiana 25-19 in the final period to book their spot in the NBA finals.

Jaylen Brown led the scoring for the Celtics with 29 points while Jayson Tatum wasn’t far behind with 26 points along with 13 rebounds.
