Woman arrested after man allegedly fatally stabbed in Sydney’s east

A woman has been arrested after a man was allegedly fatally stabbed in Sydney’s Eastern Beaches.

Police found a man with fatal stab wounds at a home on Murrabin Avenue in Matraville at 6.15pm yesterday.

The man could not be revived by paramedics and died at the scene.

A woman was arrested nearby and is assisting police.

Neighbours told 9News they heard screaming coming from the vicinity at 5.30pm and saw a woman running up and down the street. 

Locals also said they saw a man and a woman having a verbal argument a few hours earlier in the day before the man went to a nearby pub.

No charges have been laid.
